1965 PLYMOUTH BELVEDERE II
ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA "BLACK PLATE" CAR
Up for auction in an original solid California "Black Plate" Car! It features a 1971 318cid motor (had original Poly 318) that runs very well and smooth with a rebuilt 727TF tranmission that shifts on a dime, it has an open 8 3/4 rearend with 2:94 freeway gears. This Plymouth gets pretty good gas mileage (mid to upper teens). And gets plenty of looks and thumbs ups where ever it goes.......
This car would make a perfect Street Rod, Drag Car or even a AF/X - Super Stock clone with it's color correct Gold/Tan interior on White exterior. Or just leave as a cruiser / driver as it is now...
It has had many up-grades and new parts added over the years since I purchased it in 1999 from the previous owner in San Diego, Ca. Such as:
Mopar Performance Electronic Ignition System installed.
Headman Ceramic Headers w/duel exhaust.
Performance Suspension Techology (PST) front end rebuilt kit installed.
Original HEMI mufflers installed.
Drive shaft rebuilt and balanced.
Manual gear box rebuild.
Up-graded Big Block 4 core radiator (Rebuilt)
NEW: Carpet, Headliner Package tray (Legendary Auto Interior parts)
Reupholstered seats.
Autometer oil pressure gauge installed.
3 point seat belts added to Driver and front Passenger for added safety.
Body Paint: This a 20 - 30 footer car. It has had one Non-professional repaint by the previous owner in 1999 (Orig. White), which still has a nice shine to it. Body work done was just okay, there is one area over the right rear wheel well that is showing a couple of bubbles - see picture. The trunk, frame rails and floor in this car are very solid as it is a Southern Calif. car..Very minor surface rust in truck (see pics.)
Interior: Still looks pretty nice with it's new carpet, headliner and package tray. The door panels and dash pad are showing it's age with some cracks and tears as these are still the original parts, but are intact. All gauges work great (oil, temp, Alt., and fuel). Headlights, Taillights, Brakelights and Turnsignals work perfect. The Speedo gauge though just recently stopped working, I suspect speedo cable. And the heater lines have been disconnected as the heater valve started leaking. (heater and defrost worked fine prior to disconnect).
This car has a clean Title and Registration and has current tags up to May 2009 in Calif.
