This is an incredibly original unmolested car, This Catalina sports the original seat covers, the original carpets, the original paint, Even the original Radiator hoses on the engine, Look closely at the close up photo of the heater hoses, see those Ribs on there? That is how they came from Pontiac in 1965.
All this is not to say the car is as new, it’s not, it is 43 years old, what it means to the restorer is, when he takes something apart, he can be sure most of it is as Pontiac intended, he can put it back together correctly, he can hope some back yard technition has not already gummed things up with incorrect parts and Jury rig repairs.
I am, near as I can tell, this Catalinas 3d owner, it was reported to me when I bought it, the car had sat for some 7 years in a Garage, she was in eastern Washington (Desert) I rebuilt both the Carburetor and the Distributor and Drove it home, Since then I have Rebuilt the distributor again and changed the oil 2 times, the car is coming to life nicely, the transmission works well (Turbo 400), it shift crisply and at the correct time, it runs well on all 8 cylinders but is starting to show her 123,000 miles with a little smoke if U get on her and some clickity clackity lifters if U get on her too much. The Brakes work well and she drives straight down the road like a freight train.
I have put some 1,300 miles on the car and enjoy it very much, I am selling this and the Buick in my other auction in Hopes of getting together enough $$$ to Restore my GTO
Please give me a $500 Deposit immediately after the auction and give me instructions as to how U would like the car delivered, the Auction is FOB my place in Graham WA but I am happy to help with shipping as needed.
5-8-08 Update, Today I got a set of Front disk brakes for the car, a very solid but used Dual Exhaust, a 428 with 70,000 original miles and a matching T-400. I have also an optional set of bucket seats for the car, there is so much interest from over seas for this car and such Optional parts are so rare over seas, I will make this available to be shipped with the car, at extra cost. I hate to see her go, and doubly hate to see her go so far, but if nobody here at home will bid then off she goes to Europe or down under. Welcome.
