Up for auction is this great looking 1985 Pontiac Firebird race car project. This is a "roller" and will need your engine and transmission combination installed to be complete. This car was set up for a small block Chevy turbo build-up. We have owned this car for about two years and now it's time to move on to another project. Upon purchase, this car was stripped of all of it's excess weight and made as light as possible. New molded carpet was installed and the HVAC was removed. The differential is out of an 1987 Camaro Iroc Z and has been upgraded with a Zexel Torsen "helical gear" style differential, 3.42:1 gear set, 28 spline axles and "LT1" style late model disc brakes. The front brakes were new in 2003, the last owner replaced the hoses, calipers and pads, but never bled them and they have not been used yet. The rear end will need brake lines to make the brake system complete. The car has been fitted with GTA black mesh 16x8" wheels with Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires on the rear and Eagle GA tires on the front. One of the rear tires is practically new and has very few miles. The wheels are in good condition and the black centers are near perfect. The exterior of the vehicle is in decent shape, there are two dents in the drivers side rear quarter panel and a few dings here and there, but nothing major. The black paint is in decent shape, especially on the Formula "turbo" style hood. The paint on the nose is in poor shape. There is a 1989 Formula nose that I am giving the winning bidder. It will need to be painted to match the rest of the car. The interior is in decent shape. The black molded carpet is brand new and is flawless. The seats are in great shape with no rips or tears. The dash pad is cracked and will need replacement. The gauges are all intact and there are three, six fuse power distribution panels installed on the passenger side of the dash face. The door panels are in good shape and need nothing. There is no headliner or visors. Overall, I believe the condition of this vehicle is above average for its age. It has alot of potential for a street or strip build up. I do have a clear Kansas title for this car.
