the motor is included with winning bid
basicly ,up for auction here is a whole 1969 pontiac gto in pieces. alot of pieces. all the pieces. well, you're probably going to have to buy something to put it all together, but it was a whole car before a couple ( 3 ) deadbeat body men got ahold of it. after getting ripped off for $6000.00 total and having the trunk, valence , and brand new hood stolen, i decided to take it home and do it myself before i shot someone in the face and went to jail.
it all started off good though,i'm 32 years old, and ive had this car since i was 19.when i got it ,it had been restored ten years earlier.it wasnt the best resto, but it was still pretty nice.it was the first 1969 gto i'd ever seen in person and it was for sale.theres not enough room here for all the good stories, but after about 4 years the trans started with the whole morning sickness thing and stayed parked for about a year.while it was parked ( outside ) rain leaked through the ram air vent and locked up the motor.i was making good money so the motor went to a machine shop and got the crank rebuilt and balanced to 10,000rpms , blueprinted the block, bored it .060 over ( i think ) and forged 11.75:1 pistons.the mechanic had this "desktop dyno" program and i was shooting for 450 horsepower.we basically used the program to max out the motor and then " de cam'd " it, and ended up with 480hp.i didnt want it to be a high rpm motor i wanted all the power down low.i wanted it to run on pump gas and did'nt want the hassle of adjusting valves all the time with a solid lift cam, so i went with a hydrolic lift cam with roller lifters and roller rockers.i wanted to keep the oem valve covers, so we sent the heads back to the machine shop to fit the rockers.they were taking a log time so to motivate them i suggested having them do more port work.this was about 6 years ago so i cant remember what all they did. is there such a thing as swirl polished domes? they matched the intake manifold to the heads and when we added the port work to the dyno program the new numbers were 530 horsepower and 610lbs of torque with a accel cdi ignition, headers, and a BG demon 750 cfm carb on 93 octane pump gas.oh yeah, i got a TCI 2200 rpm stall converter and had the th 400 trans rebuilt and got a 12 bolt posi carrier.
this same mechanic was a friend of mine and i paid him to paint it for me too.he took the car apart and had the body/parts bead blasted and primed it all in an epoxy primer.at this point you can start to see what all the cars been through.the hood had been folded up before and had a bunch of bondo in it, and the drivers side fender and door had a large repair at one time.the repaires were done well though ( i drove the car for 4 years and never could tell).the core support had a little tweak in it so i got another one from a '70 lemans.i bought an oem stamped metal hood and front valence.after all that i was out of money for a while and the mechanic did'nt mind keeping it there, when i got more money i would give it to him. he had a big shop behind his house that he built hotrods and restored old mercedes out of.it was all going good till he got a divorce and she got the house and i lost all the money i gave him and had to move the car.
the next shop i took it to wanted 5k to bolt the motor to the trans and motor mounts, paint it and put the glass back in it.i could do the rest myself and they wanted 1000.00 to start - and then the shop got repo'd.and i lost that grand and the hood ,trunk, and valence. then went to another shop that started off with the same deal, then i went by on day to find my car sitting out in the rain.they had had my car and another 1000.00 for 2 months and done nothing but get it all rusty from the firewall forward.thank God theres a waiting period to by a handgun in Georgia.
the floor needs re skinned under the back seat. its not bad but it needs done AND ITS ALL TOOK APART!! there was some rust around the rear window that got welded up and needs grinding down, and then another spot that needs welding around the same window.i was just going to reskin all the bottoms of the wheel wells but a good bodyman could fix them up easily if you can find one that actually works( a bodyman that is ). i still got the old hood ,but it looks pretty bad being half stripped and left outside once we found the bondo in it . i have pictures of all the spots that need work on the body and can email them to anyone interested.its really not that bad, i thought i was going t do it myself after the last shop, but its just sat here in my garage for another year and i really dont have the room to do it all here at my house.
i did the PHS documentation thing a long time ago, the car was originally warwick blue (and always was) with hideaway headlights ,black interior, bucket seats, console shifter, power steering, power front disc brakes, automatic transmission, and cordova top.the seats and door panels look really good, i didnt even clean them up for the pictures.the dash is cracked up ,but those are all over ebay.when i bought the car, it did not have the hidden headlights, and had the non hidden ones on it. i bought an almost complete n.o.s. hidden headlight system.i know its missing one of the headlight grill covers, but you could just run it without them till you sort it out.I also got the ralley guage cluster with the 150mph speedometer and real guages for oil pressure ,water temp, and volts instead of dummy lights and a factory clock.
the plate on the body looks like this:

i just wanted to add that there was $6000.00 in parts and machine work on that motor, and its never been cranked.
the easiest thing to do if your from out of state would be: to fly in, rent a 14' u-hual truck (actually penske is cheaper) with a car trailer and then i live 15 minutes from the airport and i can help you load it all up.
