Vehicle Description Up for auction is a vehicle I purchased not too long ago through eBay. It appears that I was ripped off when I purchased the car. I suggest you check my history for research purposes in order to help you make a determination on if you would like to bid on this car or not. Unless you want to buy it, please do not bid. If your feedback is (0) please contact me before bidding. The vehicle is a 1969 Pontiac Tempest that was cloned to a GTO, other wise known as a “TRIBUTE” car. The vehicle has a Pontiac 400 engine, with a Pontiac 3 speed transmission. If you have any quick questions then contact me through eBay, or, would like to see the car call me, 240-508-8826, Fred. **07/06 I have a few more pictures of the vehicle http://photobucket.com/pontiac If a specific photo is needed please ask through eBay and I shall post. **07/08 One picture added to photobucket of the front cockpit area. I was told, and was lead to believe, that it had no issues or problems and was turnkey ready to go. I found out the hard way it is not in that condition, yet: The title is free and clear of any liens, and in my possession. The vehicle has frame damage that was repaired (see pictures), because of the frame damage the front passenger side quarter panel does not line up, and the hood does line up the way it should. Also, the front passenger quarter panel at the door is not lined up correctly, the support rod for the panel isn’t even right on it (see pictures). Also, because the front grill is a GTO grill, not a Tempest grill, it will not line up 100% with the front, as you can see in the pictures. The pictures of the car while it is dusty is to help you see what ever imperfections may be there, when the car is shined up you wont notice anything in the pictures. § More importantly, my mechanic took a look at the car, he noted that the distributor was installed incorrectly and the timing of the car was off. He heard a slight knock in the engine. He drained the oil at which time metal shavings were observed in the oil. § The brake lines were improperly fitted. The fittings are for a 100-psi system, while the car is a 1000-psi brake system. § The trunk was cut, and patched with fiberglass. For those of you who do not know about this, a section of the trunk may be cut when a frame is being straightened out. After the frame is ‘straight’ the relief cut is then patched with fiberglass. A sealer was spraying in the trunk. § The front brakes are squealing/squeaking. After my mechanic found the problems with the engine I told him there was no need to go any further. § The exhaust was not hung the correct way, the hangers were welded to the frame. The pipes seem to do a good job of concealing the frame damage (see pictures); this is why the pictures are at a funny angle. § The previous owner told me it has a 5K-paint job, and it looked like it in the pictures I saw when it was for sale. But, there is some paint fade around the top of doors, and you can see the tapelines around some of the edges, in person you may or may not notice some orange peel here and there; This cannot be seen in the pictures, but in person, up close, you might notice it. § Also- The outside weather stripping is missing from around the door windows, and the trunk seal needs to be replaced. To me, and my ASE certified mechanic, it appears as if the previous mechanic, or owner, half way did the engine work and just prettied up the car. Bottom line- the car looks awesome and sounds awesome. I drove it in D.C. by the monument and folks taking pictures of the usual sights stopped when they heard the car and started taking pictures of me driving past them in traffic! I have vanity tags that say 'sssslow', this car turns heads, gets the ladies attention, traffic will slow and folks will stare. Its a great feeling, the car drives nice for now, my mechanic advised me not to drive around with the timing the way it is. Some would refer to the car as ‘bad-ass’, but the engine will need work. Too much for me to get into as I was looking for something to not have to spend a dime on other than regular maintenance for a car from its time. If you know absolutely nothing about cars move on, this car is for someone who has the time and energy, and at least some knowledge about automobiles, to put in it. I do not. So, at this point I’m better off getting out of this hole and not digging it any deeper, my loss is your gain. Thanks for looking, if you have any questions I will try to answer them to the best of my knowledge. If you have any questions, please contact me through eBay, for your protection, and mine. Do not hesitate to ask any questions. If you can, please look at the car IN PERSON before bidding. If you are too far away then ask alot of questions so there is no miscommunication. After I receive full payment, if the buyer cannot pick up the immediately that is no problem. I can store the car for a amount of time until the purchaser can make shipping arrangements. This does not mean I'll store this beast until Christmas, it means a reasonable amount of time for FREE! Shipping- if you are close I can tow the car to you with a tow dolly, or you can have it towed at your expense. If you are not close then you will have to come get the car yourself or pay for a shipper to ship it. I hate to be anal with the payment instructions and everything, but that 'ripped-off' feeling is a terrible thing to experiece, if I seem anal it is not only for the buyers protection, but mine as well. I am selling this vehicle ‘as is’ ‘where is’. No warranties expressed or implied.
