Up for grabs is a 2004 Pontiac Montana SE Sport Minivan. It is a one owner, GMAC (General Motors) long term lease return. We normally list our vehicles without a reserve price and a 1,000$ starting bid, while this method has proven to be highly successful, it takes a long time! We are trying this method so that you do not have to wait and watch for the 10 day listing period, all to get beat out at the last second by a bid "sniper"! Now to tell you about the van. As mentioned it is a one owner, long term lease return and is fully equipped: Air Conditioning, Power Windows and Door Locks with Remote Keyless Entry and Two Keyfobs, Remote Starter, Power Mirrors, Tilt Steering, Cruise Control, CD Player, Quad Captains Seats, 7 Passenger Seating, OEM Alloy Wheels, Sport Package Two Tone Paint, Factory Fog Lamps, Factory Roof Rack, 3.4 Litre V6 Engine and Automatic Transmission.
The interior is near perfect. Have a look at the photo's and see for yourself. It has definitely NEVER been smoked in (that is one of our most important criteria when considering a vehicle). The upholstery and carpets are rip, tear, stain and odor free. It still smells like a new van inside! Whoever leased this van when it was new took great care in preserving it's interior for it's next owner. Will that be you? The rear seats in the Montana's are the most versatile we have found. They are split, which allows you to remove one or both.....or simply flip them up if you need some extra cargo space. They are easy to handle and store if you have to remove them. Compare that to a Windstar or Caravan, where you have to remove a bench that weighs close to 80 pounds, then find a place to store it! The Quad Captains seats provide easy access to the rear seat, and also provide a "buffer zone" which is sometimes required when seating young siblings next to one and other!
The exterior is just as nice. The Blue and Light Sandrift Metallic is a color combo that will take your breath away. It is all original and the van has never been accidented or repainted. The paint is glossy, shiny and shows extremely well. The body and undercarriage are rust and corrosion free. The photo's were taken on a dull cloudy day, it is very difficult to fully appreciate it, it really has to be seen in person. We found a ottal of four flaws on the exterior of this van. 1) Two dime sized dings on the tailgate. 2) One dime sized ding on the left (driver's side) rear sliding door. 3) Dime sized ding on the hood. and finally 4) Chip in the paint on the front bumper, it has been touched up. Nothing out of the ordinary, and most would likely go unnoticed by the majority of shoppers. Overall a very well preserved example that will provide you with years and years of trouble free service and good looks too!
This van has been through a thorough mechanical inspection, to be sure that all you will have to do once you take delivery, is drive and enjoy it. The suspension was checked for any loose components, none were found. Tires have 75% treadlife remaining. Both the engine and transmission are free and clear of any and all types of fluid leaks. The front brakes have 65% of their friction material remaining and work perfectly BUT the rotors do have some corrosion on them so we are going to go ahead and replace them. Rears have 80% of their friction material remaining, they will be cleaned and adjusted prior to delivery. The van will also be given an oil and filter service so that you will be starting out fresh. We will also reset the oil service life indicator at that time. All you have to do is watch for the oil service indicator to tell you when you are due for your next oil service. This is a really nice touch found on the Pontiac Montana. No need for stickers in the windshield etc. This van will pass a safety and e-test with ease no matter where you live. (If you are a Quebec resident, this vehicle is safetied here in Quebec, and will not need to pass any type of safety inspection)
The van rides and drives just like a new one.....with one major difference......this van will cost you a mere fraction of what a new one would! Seriously though, it is shake rattle and "squeak" free. It tracks straight and has excellent acceleration. The transmission shifts perfectly, and the brakes perform flawlessly, as mentioned above.
With only 96,012km's of use, you can look forward to years and years of trouble free service from this vehicle.
Almost forgot to mention, it carries with it a balance of GM powertrain warranty until 100,000km's!!
Now let's talk fuel economy! The Pontiac Montana is second only to a four cylinder Dodge Caravan!! How many of them have to seen on the road! It is good for 19mpg in the city and 26mpg on the highway.
