1978 Pontiac Trans Am. Originally gold with camel deluxe velour interior. Not a special edition or t-top car. Just installed new carpet and headliner and changed the seats to nice original deluxe vinyl. Driver seat has two small holes in it, the rest are very nice.(see pics) The rear side panels have been dyed and need to be redone. Door panels are ok but should be replaced. Needs the console box, the old one was in bad shape. Also the dome light mounts are broken so the light hangs a little. Dash is decent, not perfect but nice with one crack above the gauges. Steering wheel is showing its age but is still decent. Power window switch is not working, the window motors work and have been tested. Under the car is excellent the only rust found is in the drivers side floor, two small finger sized holes, the rest is very nice for a car this age. Rear frame rails and trunk are also excellent. Front suspention has been recently rebuilt, new upper and lower bushings and ball joints new rotors and pads. Posi rear, motor runs strong with no noises or smoke. Was told it was recently redone but was offered no proof.Trans shifts great and has no leaks.New dual exhaust with dual cats, the tips are alittle rusty from sitting. Body is in great shape, recent paint is fair, not perfect but decent. If buy it now used a set of 8 inch snowflake wheels will be included. Currently installed are 8 inch wide American Racing Type 23 with old BFGs. They have some cracks in them. The lights and signals function as they should. The carb needs a rebuild or someone to tune it, car runs fine when being driven, just doesn't like to idle all the time. I traded another car for this and have only driven this to the store and around the block, it doesn't overheat and seams to run fine with alot of power, good firm shifts and nice sounding exhaust, the way a TransAm should sound. Overall it is a nice car but needs restored to be a show car. Keep in mind it is 30 years old and has been driven. If I have forgotten or missed anything please ask questions or come look for yourself. The car needs front spoiler and flares.
