Up for auction is a very special 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. This is a beautifully preserved unrestored example that has only logged 85k miles throughout its life. If you've been looking for a second generation Trans Am for a while, consider this one to be refreshingly devoid of the usual problems that seem to plague these wonderful cars. The doors do not sag, they open and close easily. The door handles are not broken. The car doesn't rattle and squeak over every bump you hit. All the gauges work including the tach, the gauges are not fogged over. The T-tops do not leak, the trunk is dry. The grilles are perfect. The quarters /lower fenders / floor pans are not rusted. The stock AM/FM/8-track is still in place and still works., the console / door panels / rear deck have never had speakers cut into them. The headliner doesn't sag. It holds good oil pressure, it doesn't run hot. It doesn't leak, It starts, drives, stops, idles, shifts, turns the way it's supposed to. The seats are still cushy and supportive. The interior is original and gorgeous. It still appears to wear most of it's original paint, though the eagle and shaker graphics seem to have been replaced somewhere along the line. The car is not some bondo bucket - the car has never been wrecked or had rust repair. All body panels and gaps line up nicely. Paint is not show-quality, as this has never been a show car. The T-top bags, spare, and jack are still with the car. All the center caps are still on the car. They are the originals, not reproductions.
As with any 29 year old car, it does have normal wear. The A/C system though entirely complete, blows lukewarm, and I'm sure could use at least a partial recharge. Everything else works as it should. Hop in, drive it anywhere.
I strongly encourage you to view the car in person prior to bidding, as I will be more than happy to show it. Reserve is very reasonable - please do not ask me what it is. If you need a specific shipping quote, I'll do my best to help you.
Basically, this is a nice tight original car - definitely not your typical East Coast car. If you're tired of looking at all the modified, wrecked, rusted and generally trashed junk that's out there, this is the car you want to bid on.
