Well taken care of Euro-spec SC. I would like to clarify that this is an 1983 model, not a 1980. As the car is a European specification car and brought over, the VIN begins differently than a US-based Porsche. You can verify this online at any number of forums or through Pelican Parts or your local dealer. That being said, I had to use "1980" in the year description for this listing as the eBay system was not accepting the VIN of the vehicle (eBay requires VINs on auto listings from 1981 on up). My apology for any confusion. Title in hand, rest assured this is a 1983 model. History: I am a car lover as many of you are and this was a dream acquisition of mine. I had wanted a 911 since I was a kid and this was a most impressive find. I wasn't looking for this car but when I came across it I could not pass it up. Numbers matching 3.0 and transmission. Car was brought in correctly and includes the CARB certification by state of California. Car has been in U.S. since approximately 1986. From what I can tell, the car has always resided in San Diego county. Exterior and Interior: Well preserved, rust free, original paint, straight, sunroof delete body option. The body is not flawless but it is a very fine example. Original black leather seats in rear, reupholstered vinyls up front. No rip interior with very straight dash. Car has been garaged and this is evident by not only the luster of the paint but the nice soft quality of the original rubber throughout. Car will transfer with original steering wheel, not the MOMO wheel pictured. Original seat belts will also be included. I have included pictures of a tiny ding (approximately 1/4 of an inch) on the passenger side and a spot on the rear deck that the paint has been rubbed off from where the lid touches the bottom upon opening. These are two "major" body issues with the car. All body panels have original factory stickers on them except for the passenger door. While it does not have the factory sticker on it, I have no reason to believe it is not the original door. It does not appear to have ever been taken off the car or replaced. However, there is a spot about 1.5 by 1 inches under the passenger door side mirror that has had some body work done on it. Mechanical: Comes with complete vehicle inspection paperwork performed by a well respected shop here in San Diego, Black Forest. Good compression. Fires up first time. Idles well and has strong power throughout the band. Valves adjusted approximately 2K ago. New points at that time. Although the engine runs strong and smooth, it does have one broken head stud at #4 that should be taken care of in the future. An oil return tube is also due for replacement as the car will drop a touch (approx. 3 drops?) of oil the next day after driving. The clutch is solid and is expected to serve for a long time to come, grabs nicely. Mated to 915 5 speed with factory LSD. Electrical: All gauges and electrical items in excellent working order including the dash clock. As expected, AC blows but not cold. As mentioned above, this is a well taken care of and uniquely-optioned model (LSD, H-4 factory lights, higher compression Euro-spec engine, sunroof delete). Personally, the sunroof delete and factory LSD options are what make this car so special to me and it is with much dismay I have chosen to sell the car at this time. The new owner should be very pleased. Good luck bidding. On Sep-07-08 at 14:33:48 PDT, seller added the following information: *Additional information added 9/7/08. Embarrassing mistake on my part. My 911 is an '82, not an '83. I also have an '83 944 and made a mistake when posting my 911. My apology to everyone interested. To help clarify I have included additional pictures today including some of the VIN and of the CARB certification which both confirm the date of manufacture. I also wanted to mention a few other items on the car to further describe the condition: Tires: Toyo Proxes TS-1 = 4 @ 90% Front brakes: New rotors and pads done 1,000 miles ago = 95% Back brakes: 25% Steering wheel: Excellent condition wheel. Horn not hooked up Headliner: Perfect condition Clutch: 90% Rear bonnet light (engine compartment) does not come on. Have not checked to see if this is a bulb issue. The pull knob for the door lock on the passenger door is no longer there. The door locks and unlocks just fine by the turn knob on the interior door panel, just the pull knob that is on the top of the sill is non existent. Should you have additional questions please feel free to contact me. On Sep-07-08 at 15:00:46 PDT, seller added the following information: ** Additional information added 9/7/08 Forgot to mention that the 911 was brought over to the U.S. in late 1984 per the tag on the inside of the hood. I have taken a picture of the tag which can be seen at the below-mentioned Flickr photo account. I have also included photos of the driver's side floor pan to illustrate the solid pans. The orange/brown color you see IS NOT rust, it is old, dried glue residue from the factory carpet kit. As eBay only allows for 24 photos to be uploaded, I have added additional photos on a Flickr account which can be accessed at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30264376@N05/
