Being offered for bid is a totally unmolested, original specimen of a 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa from what many call the best-of-Porsche era. Unlike so many other Porsches of this vintage, it has not been added to, or screwed up with some shade-tree mechanic’s idea of what a Porsche should be. It’s just as it was when it was created in Stuttgart in 1985. With only 21,500 miles you can surmise that this machine has been pampered since birth. Fanatically maintained and always covered and garaged. History Imported from Europe, which means there are several differences: it has side running lights and it has 231 HP, about 20 more than the US version. Originally imported to the US by Mr. Allecce Bedricky, father of female recording artist Tamara Bedricky. VIN WP0ZZZ91ZFS140703 Mechanical This Carrera is in excellent mechanical condition. The transmission is smooth and the engine sounds great. Leaks about a drop of oil every couple of weeks, which is common for this vintage. The compression was tested at its 15,000 mile service and was strong and equal across all cylinders. New first and second synchros make shifting smooth and easy. Porsche carpet mats Original factory-installed whale tail Clarion Single CD Player with 4 speakers Full 15,00-Mile Service completed Has Porsche owner’s manual and even a Euro emergency road marker and original Porsche-supplied gloves so you won’t dirty your pinkies when checking the oil Includes custom made Block-It Evolution car cover Includes custom made seat covers I ordered to protect the leather seats Caveat Emptor In the interest of full disclosure, here are the things that to the best of my knowledge may need attention. These are probably overstated, but I’d rather avoid disappointment. The A/C has been disconnected. It likely needs to be charged. I never needed it and never missed it with the Targa top. This Carrera is 24 years old, and if you look you will find some normal road dings. When I asked a well-known body repair man to fix them, he laughed at me and said not to do that, as they’re very small and reflect the age of the vehicle. I’m the third owner. When I purchased the vehicle it had 14,000 miles on it, and I’ve put the added 7,000 miles on over a period of 4.5 years. It did not pass the emissions test when I first got it, but my mechanic made some minor adjustments and that problem no longer exists. As mentioned above it will leave a single drop of oil on the garage floor about once every couple of weeks. The windshield wipers are a little wimpy in my opinion, but I never drove it in any kind of rain that put them under duress. The tires are in excellent condition. However they are most likely the original Pirelli tires which came with the vehicle, which is either good or bad. You decide. If you look very closely you’ll find several scrape marks on the lower edge of the front rubber flex type spoiler where it must have run up against a curb or obstacle. This affects the rubber trim only, not the body of the vehicle. The seller will not finance payment of this vehicle, so obtain funds elsewhere prior to bidding. The seller has no interest in any trade of any type. Reason for Sale I’m selling this car because I use it so rarely. It’s a bit of a shame that it seems I just wash it and wax it and put it back in the garage, or maybe I’m just a little too old now to handle such a high performance vehicle. I’ve also been chastised by some Porsche purists who say I’m abusing it by not using it. So, here’s your opportunity to correct that travesty. You may call me @ 206-910-4998 with any question about this Porsche.
