1971 Porsche 911T Targa VIN: 9111111643 We’re pleased to offer for sale an absolutely striking 1971 Porsche 911T Targa. Finished in stunning correct (code 2310) “Tangerine” paint over a black vinyl interior, the car is a literal head-turner, garnering more attention than virtually any classic we’ve ever sold. The finish is immaculate, free of dings, scratches or fading, and it’s accented by immaculate chrome and rubber, as well as a flawless anodized targa cap. The targa top itself is entirely perfect both inside and out – no tears, separation or marks to the vinyl – and the original Fuchs wheels are polished and wrapped in brand new tires. Always properly cared for, the car was never left out in the elements and consequently we can find absolutely no rust in the original pans, no rust in the door panels and no rust eating through the battery box. The car’s interior is completely original and equally as clean. The black vinyl seats are absolutely flawless and the carpets and interior paneling are in excellent condition. The door panels are in excellent shape as well, with the exception of the pockets, which exhibit typical sagging. The dash is free of cracks and the targa top’s headliner is in excellent condition With just 118k original miles the car is also mechanically very strong, its original 2.2L engine and transmission both extremely sound. Starting right up without any smoke or hesitation, the car shifts smoothly and runs and brakes straight without any shuddering or odd vibrations. Equipped with Zenith carbs, the car emits a wonderfully throaty, distinctive early-911 exhaust note and the car pulls strongly through each of the gears. Whether carving up the canyon, tooling through town or cruising down the highway, the car’s drive quality is nothing short of “grin-producing” – always a pleasure. Clean 911’s are getting harder to find as their demand as a collectible has skyrocketed over the past few years. To find an original, dry, mechanically strong example finished in a rare and fantastically era-specific color is truly uncommon. If you’re a serious vintage 911 buyer this car deserves your consideration. Bid to win. In response to a number of questions regarding the paint color: for those who are unfamiliar with Porsche paint colors, Code 2310 is referred to as "Tangerine", which, as the name suggests, is a gorgeous deep orange color with red overtones. Please feel free to call or email if you have any additional questions.
