This bone stock cab is an excellent example of the 964 911 platform, that runs great and essentially needs nothing. The Porsche “Guards Red” is tastefully accented with sand beige leather interior; an excellent combination. The exterior is near flawless (other than the occasional small stone chip), and shines unbelievably like new. The paint really looks great. This Carfax certified 2 owner car has also been fitted with a brand new top (and the accompanying rear window), so the worn top and faded/cracked rear window normally associated with cabs of this vintage is no issue. Also completed this past spring was a complete tune up and brake job. The oil sending unit and accompanying O-Ring (common leak area) has just been replaced as well. The tiptronic transmission is smooth as silk, and provides a nice addition to open top motoring: Shift yourself for some spirited performance driving fun, or flip it back to auto for commutes, and let the car do the work for you. The A/C blows cold (not that you’ll use it much with the top down!), and the heat is hot, and warms quickly. Also included is the optional sport exhaust, giving this 911 a nice, but subtle, throaty note. Vehicle is (still!) fitted with the original Blautpunkt am/fm cassette player system, but also offers a Sony 10 cd changer in the front trunk. Also installed are a complete "Viper" brand security system with keyless remote entry (two keys and remotes included), as well as a Vector brand radar detector fully wired in and functional (I, however, fully recommend always obeying all posted speed limits :). Touted as an 85% new 911 when released by Porsche in 1989 (as a ’90 model), the 964 is a perfect blend of that original timeless air cooled 911 formula with just enough modern day technology. This car essentially needs nothing to be thoroughly enjoyed at once. All original books, stamped manuals, both keys and records are included. The original option sticker is still under the hood as well. I am a long time Porsche enthusiast, owning over 30, and am very picky about my “babies”. Therefore, following is a list of recommendations (in the interest of disclosure) that I would offer to make this vehicle exceptional: Front seat recondition/recover: As you can see, they are a bit worn from 17 years of top down use in the sun. The automatic seat controls all work perfectly, it’s just cosmetic. Many different upholstery kits are available, so you decide the grade to use. The sheepskins (pictured) are like new and come with the car, so you can leave them alone if you so desire! The right rear taillight is spidered, and both sides as well as the center reflector are a bit faded. OEM and aftermarket replacements are readily available, or resources like Partsheaven offer used replacements for great prices. Again all are fully functional, and work perfectly, this is just cosmetic. The front passenger side fog light lens is also cracked. Once again, the light works, just needs new glass. The old top motors were kept in place when the new roof was fitted. They are functional, but original and wearing. I usually just put the top down manually (which takes all of 5 seconds and is actually quicker than automatic), so again, you decide on replacement. The turn signal stalk should be replaced. They commonly wear out (my SC has the same issue!), and don’t want to stay activated when turning. Left works, right is erratic. Again, both signals operate perfectly, it’s just the lever. A cheap and easy fix. These are “tick tack” little issues, and many wouldn’t even bring them up when selling a vehicle. To me, they offer a handful of small and simple little winter projects to keep you connected to your toy when (if your like me) you’re not driving it! But I know how Porsche guys are (I’m one of them!), and want to be completely honest and offer no surprises (unless they’re pleasant!). I’ve been accused of actually “under selling” in my descriptions in the past when the time comes to thin out my collection. Most guys claim my vehicles are much nicer than I describe. Of course, the only way to know for sure is to come see the car yourself, which I welcome, by appointment, any time. Feel free to call me any time as well to discuss any details needing further clarification. It’s my favorite topic! Call 574-361-5315 or email for more info or details or to arrange an appointment to see the car in person. Bid is a binding contract. Please do not bid if you do not intend to buy. Vehicle is sold as is where is, but I know a few good shipping companies, and will help arrange transportation if possible. Transportation cost is responsibility of buyer. Vehicle is for sale locally, and seller reserves the right to end auction early for local sale. Feel free to call me and make a "buy it now" offer. Negative feedback bidders will be blocked, zero feedback bidders, please contact me prior to bidding, or your bid may be cancelled. Thanks for bidding and good luck!
