Up for auction is a 1981 Porsche 911 SC Targa. The car was donated to charity and is being sold at NO RESERVE! When we first received this vehicle it started up with a jump, but smoked pretty bad and would not stay running. We were only able to move it around our yard and did not have the ability to drive it. The donor had indicated that the vehicle was in need of an engine rebuild and that it had been sitting for quite some time.
The body is in overall good condition, but the paint is thin and it has a few scratches and scuffs throughout. The hood has some crease dents in it and there are a few other minor dings throughout the body as well. The removable top latches as it should and looks to be in decent shape. The interior is in need of reconditioning, as the seats are worn at the seem lines and the carpet is also pretty warn. The dash looks to be in good order! Since the vehicle was only started just briefly, no assessment has been made to the working order of any of the accessories, but they appear to be OK!
Please let the pictures speak for themselves and I would highly recommend a personal inspection. This is a solid car with no real signs of rust, other than a little surface rust on some of the suspension components from sitting for so many years. This is too nice of a car to be parted out, so please don't ask! With some work, this could be a nice car with collectible potential!
Car is being sold as is, with no warranty as a non-runner, therefore it must be towed from our facility. Car is not currently registered and we have no idea what it would cost to get the registration brought current in California. It comes with a clean California Title which is in our possession.
Located in Costa Mesa, California. Please call (714) 241-9087 to arrange a personal inspection.
