Vehicle Description
Hello and Thank you for looking!
We are very pleased to offer you fine and interesting items from our Hudson Valley locale.
We were unable to complete the deal with the original winner of this auction due to unforseen reasons so we are offering this car again.
For your consideration, we have a fine and rare
Vintage 1968 PORSCHE 911 COUPE!!
It ran well a year ago and has approximately 500 miles on a recently rebuilt engine. The transmission is a manually shifted "Sport-o-matic" transmission which needs some work.
The paint job on it is currently black, but research shows the original color as a Golden Green. Interior is black leatherette. There is some rust underneath the car and some spots on the body. Please check the photos.
Restore this gem and experience the unique pride of owning such a classic car. It is a head turner!!
The car has had three owners, no history of accidents, and no smoking in it by the third owner, for the last 5+ years. Prior to that, we do not know.
The third owner has repair maintenance records on hand for the duration of her ownership and some partial records from the second owner. It had been regularly maintained by the third owner up until the last year, when it was driven in a move to the current location and parked.
It has not been started or run in a year.
The registration and New York State Inspection are both expired at this time.
This car is located 100 miles northwest of New York City, in the Hudson Valley area and can be viewed in person by appointment. Please contact me through Ebay to arrange this.
Our merchandise is found locally, from estates throughout the Hudson Valley and Tri-state area. As these are usually antique and/or collectible items, we do our best to research the items and portray them as accurately as possible. Please email any questions prior to bidding. Thanks for looking!
Be sure to check out my other auctions for more interesting items! I accept Paypal, money order and certified checks as payment on this auction.
This item must be picked up by the buyer.
On Jun-18-08 at 15:50:46 PDT, seller added the following information:
This model appears to be a 911-L. The numbers on the door panel on the drivers side read:
W. Germany 11835379
Kunstharzlack 62165-7
Please view photos of the authenticating certificate to see details such as vehicle #, motor#, and details of the options included.
The number on the vertical area at 5 o'clock ( engine #) is 3380303. It matches the number on the certification.
The undercarriage DOES show rust. I have tried to provide photos of what I could capture without the car being on a lift. These photos are from ground level and show limited areas of exposure. I started from the rear driver's side and worked around the car toward the front, around to the front passenger side and then to the rear. What you see is what was found.
NOTE: When asked to provide mileage in this listing, I was unable to determine actual mileage. The odometer reads to only 4 places. See photo for what it reads. The actual mileage is unknown.
We have a folder with maintenance repair records through 2004. Registration inspection were current until 2007.
There are 2 pieces shown in the open hood photo. These are pieces of a jack assembly and were present in the car. They are NOT parts waiting to be re-attached. The original color is also viewable in the photo. It is a yellow-ish - green..
