Vehicle Description You are bidding on a 1968 Porsche 912 Coupe. The original owner, a military pilot then American Airlines Captain, took delivery in San Antonio, Texas on May 15, 1968 and owned the car for over 30 years until about 2000. I am the third owner. The Factory Owner's Manual, Maintenance Record book, Blaupunkt Radio documentation, and a couple tech manuals come with the car. Records show an engine/brake/clutch overhaul with a 1750cc Big Bore kit in 1987 at 136,488 miles. New Weber Carbs, Koni shocks, heat exchangers, and the speedometer (now reads about 9000 miles) were also replaced. I had a tuneup and new tires done last fall and the car runs and shifts well. The Porsche Certificate of authenticity confirms correct color (Irish green 6806) with Brown Leatherette interior, serial numbers, and options. The exterior is not perfect and shows the patina of 40 years use without a major restoration including minor dents, scratches, fading, chrome wheel surface discolor, etc. However, the car was repainted about 20 years ago and looks good as a"driver"quality car. The interior and glass are in nice shape and all the guages and radio still work. This 912 does not appear to have been in any significant accidents and there is no apparent structural rust. Doors work perfectly and all the gaps appear uniform. Please email me with any questions.
