hi this auction is for my 1981 porsche 928 5speed. i love this car! when i found it i rode the greyhound bus down to utah, and then drove it back home here to washington. this car has a 5 speed transmission that is a blast to drive. it is the dog-leg style, and as such many folks have trouble shifting! i shift smoothly through all five forward gears, and reverse. this car has ice cold air conditioning, and working cruise control. the speedometer works great and the odometer continues to register miles correctly. i have a theory about the common odometer failure in these cars, but i havent tested it on this one, and it works great! the odometer reset button operates a plunge solenoid that may exert more force than the teflon odometer gear can stand! my advice... dont hit the odometer reste! this is my second 928, and i shopped for it. this car has power seats that all work, power windows that work fine, really it is a great car. the tires are good, the brakes are tight, the leather seats are very nice. the door panels are 8/10, and the headliner is great. the car does have the leather covered dash with the usual shrinkage around the vents, but i have a dash mat on it, and i am very happy with the interior. the passenger inside door handle is broken. i never give rides anyways! LOL
working hood struts, and hatch struts, car has all factory tools and jack. i have the original spare tire, but i have an aftermarket air compressor(orig style though).
this is a sunroof delete model, and i believe it has a posi rear end.
the owner before me kept most records, which i have in the glovebox.
i had the car repainted in the original metallic green, and accented with a gold hood, roof, and hatch. i love the look!
any questions ask before bidding!

i uploaded a new set of pictures, and as i was taking them i remembered 2 items... first, the drivers door map pocket has a broken point where it attaches to the door panel. second is that the windshield washers have not worked since i have owned it. i have not checked it out as it never bothered me! i have tried to represent my baby as best as possible.
my reserve is set very fairly for this car. if it doesnt hit i will keep it. if it does hit... whoever gets it will love this car. it is not a new car by any means (1981), but it is a neat car!

i just answered the following question, and in my haste i forgot to check the post for others box... it is a good question, and a good answer too! LOL
Hello, How is the timing belt? Can you hear the motor whirring when you hit the windshield washer switch? Thanks ...

i have not changed, or checked the timing belt. on the sohc(4.5, and 4.7), it is a non-interference design which means that if the belt did happen to break, it doesnt take out the engine! you come to a stop, and get a new belt. when the 32v timing belt goes out it bends all the valves, essentially junking your engine. while the 16v is not as fast as the 32v, it is much more durable! :) no, i cant say that i hear the washer pump run, nor have i tested to see if voltage is present when the switch is engaged. oh, i have a cd rom with a .pdf of all 8? service manuals on it that i can include if someone wants it! :)
good luck, and have fun!
