Hi, up for auction is a beautiful 1988 porsche 930 turbo that I love. I hate to sell but do to major slow down in work I need to sell. I've owned the car for approximately 6 years. When I bought the car It had 36,600 miles on it and I gave $42,000 for it. The car is in super condition. There is no wear or cracks on the seats at all. The dash has no cracks at all. The interior is absolutely in great shape. The exterior of the car is in great shape with a few rock chips on front bumper but the paint still shines great and looks good for 20 years old. It has ( Speedline 3 pc Wheels ) with yokohama tires. The tires have approximately 3,000 miles on them. Now for the good part. ( The Engine ). When I bought the car 2 weeks after I bought it the distributor stopped picking up a signal. I shopped for a used one and people wanted from $600 to $1000 for a used part. I decided to go with an electromotive distributorless ignition that's upgradeable. It has a crank sensor and is super reliable and tuneable. After the ignition I kept hearing a sound like an exhaust leak. Come to find out it was a leaking head. So I had the motor pulled and sent it to california for a full rebuild. It was a no expense spared because I planned on owning the car till I died. It has a new oil pump all new bearings. They balanced all rotating parts including the rods. They installed ARP connecting rod bolts. It has new pistons and rings. They machined the heads for the stainless head gaskets. The heads were completely redone including new valve guides, stainless valves, new springs and retainers. The block had timeserts installed and ARP head bolts also installed. The camshafts are new 964 grinds and of course there is new timing chains, guides, etc. I also added ( BB polished stainless headers and polished muffler with dual tips ). I added a BB intercooler and a new K27 turbo. It also has a custom billet aircleaner. I installed a new warm up regulator , changed both front and rear fuel pumps, and put new shocks on the rear. It has a racing dynamics polished aluminum strut brace. I also put new high performance jacketed spark plug wires on it. It has white face gauges and a cool touch screen cd player. New infinity speakers front and rear. I haven't driven the car hardly at all since rebuild approximately 2900 miles. Ive changed the oil twice in that time. It has braided stainless oil cooler line that runs to thermostat. I had the fuel distributor rebuilt also that cost $700. The car is an amazing rocket. Ive owned lotus esprits and had a built pantera but this car is ridiculously fast. There's only two problems with the car. I took the car out for a drive last month and the tach wasn't working. Also the fuel accumulator is not keeping fuel pressure so you have to use a spray of starting fluid to start the car. Once it starts it runs great and is reliable. I don't know much about CIS injections but I'm sure it's nothing major. If I was going to keep the car I would add EFI injection for more reliability and control fuel better than the old CIS. The cams were set for more midrange to upper performance. Like I said I spent ridiculous money in the car that solved all the problems that 930's have. This car should give a person many years of enjoyment and bragging rights also. I stopped counting money that I put in the car when it reached $58,000. including price of car. I know people make up numbers to make their car sound better but I honestly spent way more than I should have. I set the reserve way below what its worth. Thanks and good luck bidding.. I also forgot that it has new injectors to. I also flushed the fuel tank when the engine was rebuilt. There wasn't any rust in the tank at all. Also If you look at the pictures of underneath the car it looks like rust in some of the pictures , its actually the factory wax that they sprayed on the car when new. This car has absolutely NO Rust Anywhere. Its not full of bondo or been wrecked and patched. The car is all there and is in great shape in all aspects. The convertible top is in good shape and works great. The car has always been stored in a garage since I have owned it. Thanks again. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I answer my emails after 6:00 P.M. at night so I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Good Luck On Oct-06-08 at 05:30:10 PDT, seller added the following information: I also forgot to mention that it has a short shifter and a new kevlar clutch and pilot bushing, the transaxle has been serviced with synthetic racing oil and I also put a new high torque starter on it ( half the size of the original starter with twice the power ). It has new belts and new vacuum lines on the engine.
