Vehicle Description
A beautiful 1986 944 turbo that has undergone new paint, a new engine rebuild, suspension upgrades and drives and performs great. The car is equipped with LSD transaxle too.
A complete picture listing is here: performance parts, paint process, engine pics,

The engine was rebuilt with a finishing pass on the cylinder bores; (the bores were straight) with the proper Sunnen paste and felts, new rings, all new bearings, and seals. New water pump, belts and rollers were also installed. All of the engine intake, exhaust and heat shields were Jet Hot coated. All new water hoses were installed, as well as a new expansion tank. The head was rebuilt also. The engine performance was upgraded with a Lindsey Racing 340hp kit. The car runs on MAX chips software and there is a UEGO wide band in the glove box, so it does not detract from the interior of the car. The MAFTERBURNER is also wired to the glovebox - piggyback and that makes for easy hook up for a laptop should you add/remove any item from the engine package.
The front control arms were rebuilt by SSI Auto, crack checked and new bronze bushing with new ball joint pins installed. Front bushings are red Weltmeister, with new 968 castor blocks. Rear CV joints were repacked and in excellent condition.
The car received a new Cup Car pressure plate, 930 clutch disc, with all new throw out bearing, pilot bearing and new needle bearings on the clutch rod for the fork. The fork was crack checked and none were found.
The interior of the car is in good/great condition. There is one tiny spider web crack on one defrost vent, otherwise a perfect dash. Seats are soft, have some subtle age lines but no cracks, tears or wear spots. Console is excellent. I am looking for some new rear carpet, as the previous owner had some rear speakers their. The mats are good but perfection would call for new ones. The sunroof works perfectly.
The paint, well, is a return to factory color and just stunning. The charcoal metallic is just a great color; almost black in the shade and charcoal in the sun. The car received ALL new weather stripping, gaskets, and sunroof seals during the repaint. Also, new stone guards were installed. The PORSCHE decal is not on the rear, just above the bumper, but I have in the bag, new. The FUCHS were refinished and just look great! The car also received a new Sanden A/C compressor, new hoses, and has cold air. It also just received Bridgestone SO3 pole position tires and was properly aligned.
The car performs wonderful, cold A/C, and with the new weather stripping and new tires, is very nice to drive. I just need something bigger, as both my sons are getting taller and the younger one no longer fits in the back seat.
There are two items left to sort on the car for it to be perfect. The cruise control brain or servo is not functioning and the passenger mirror on IN, but not out - all other functions are good. The body shop accidently cut one of the wires and I don't think they got it hooked up right but I haven't had time to take the door panel off to check.
I titled the car in AR and anything past 1990 is exempt so...CARFAX will show 33,352 when I registered it when it acutally had 79852 on it, as my bill of sale from previous owner will show. The car has 7200 miles on the rebuild and associated work and is truly a pleasure to drive. A nice new 968CS steering wheel was installed also, feels and looks great.
DO NOT hit ask seller a question. Please contact Rhob, @ rhob88@yahoo.com as I am listing this for him and will be out of the country for a month.
The car is also for sale locally. I reserve the right to end the auction, should the item no longer be available for sale.
