This 944 Turbo went through a little drama earlier this year. My teenage son was on his way to school one morning when the fuel damper on the fuel rail burst and sprayed fuel all over the engine compartment. As you can imagine it was a mess. The engine was unharmed but every plastic and rubber component was toast. Due to his age he can not afford full coverage so we had to rebuild the car at our expense over the next months. It started with a $7k car he purchased on Ebay. The car was grossly misrepresented but since he saved up to buy the car with his own money I didn't want to burst his bubble and since my shop works on European cars I let him go through with it. Within 2 weeks of buying the car we replaced the Power St. Rack and Power St. Pump. We upgraded the suspension to Koni Adjustables with Weltmeister Springs. The wheels and tires were not the ones shown on ebay so he spent more of his savings to buy CCW wheels and Sumitomo HTRZ IIs, 285/30-18 and 245/35-18 , a $3000.- package. After the fuel incident we started over. The entire engine bay was stripped of all components, sanded and repainted. The engine was completely disassembled and overhauled with all new bearings, gaskets and seals. Valvejob, crossdrilled crankshaft from Lindsey Racing. Used engine harness, ALL NEW hoses, lines, clamps, etc. Additional components replaced at the time. Complete Clutch Assembly, Clutch Master Cylinder, Clutch Slave Cylinder, Brake Master Cylinder, Brake Booster, Accel. Cable, Idle Air Control Valve, Aux. Waterpump and Hoses, Coolant Reservoir, Radiator, Hood (Carbon Fiber), Interstate Battery, Swaybar Bushings, Pwr. St. Lines. Performance Upgrades at the time NEW Turbo S charger, 4" Lindsey Racing exhaust system, Lindsey Racing software , Engine made 280rwhp on a 85 deg. day Adjustable Dual Port Wastegate, Manual Boost Controller. No expense was spared during this overhaul. Was it worth it. Absolutely not but my son learned alot and we had some great father/son times doing it. Over $30k have been invested in this car and it is your chance to own it for half. The carbonfiber hood has not been painted. It came off my racecar and I may want it back. The nosepanel is still missing as we finally decided that enough is enough. FYI, We are not sure about the true mileage as we think we were lied to by the previous ebay seller last year but I don't think it is very far off. Happy Bidding
