Vehicle Description Up for sale is my 2002 Porsche Boxster. This is the 5-speed manual transmission model, with black exterior and grey leather interior - a great color combination. I bought this car because I wanted the thrill of dropping the top and getting the wind in my hair; there's no better fun on a nice day, but unfortunately, I have not gotten as much use out of it as I might have hoped, so its time for this car to make another owner happy. Its really a fun weekend car for a really reasonable price, but as I just had a baby I could use the cash, and this ride isn't really very good for the car seat. Everything works as it should in the car, I had the car serviced by the local dealer a few months ago when I had the oil changed (with high-end synthetic), and it was given a clean bill of health; engine, tranny, clutch, etc. A/C blows ice cold. Radio works fine, CD works fine. Automatic top opens and closes properly. Trunk and hood are great. Spare is there. The car comes with one key with integrated remote for door lock/unlock and front/rear trunk pop buttons. I don't have the books. I am also including a fitted OEM Porsche locking car cover in like new condition, to help you protect your investment. The paint is in great shape and the car has no dings or dents (One picture makes it look like there's a white scratch line; there is no scratch! - its just the ground reflecting in the bright sunlight up on the shiny paint), but does have a few small pebble-marks that have been repainted over in the past, the areas match the surrounding paint so well that they don't come up in the pictures very well and are nearly impossible to see unless you stand very close and look for them. Same for a few minor pebble marks in the windshield. These things are minor marks and are to be expected on a used car, but even though you won't see a head-up about these in many auctions for used cars, they do have them (and I've bought used cars on eBay that don't disclose them but show up with them), and I like to give people a heads-up about these things. The only other minor issue that I am aware of is a very small tear in the rear window right along the side where the window meets the convertible top (see pictures). The tear has always been there as long as I've had the car, has not given me any problems, and is not getting any bigger. There's no need to do anything with it, though for a few bucks you could have an upholstry shop remove the old window and sew a replacement window into the top; this is commonly done. For a little more you could buy and replace the entire top, if you so choose; here's an example of a replacement top that is selling on eBay for $335. Again, the picture shows how the tear is really small, but I want to let people know about any potential issue, even if its very minor. - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsche-Boxster-1997-2002-Convertible-Top-Black-Cloth_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742Q2em153Q2el1262QQcategoryZ33652QQihZ025QQitemZ380041464349QQtcZphoto I've been watching the auctions to see how to price this, and I've noticed 2002 Boxsters pricing for between $17,500-$22,000. I am placing this at the low end of the range, as I put it up for sale because I'd like to actually sell it, and think that's a reasonably fair price. I am willing to consider any reasonable offer you'd like to make me, but please don't bid if you don't actually plan on buying it. If you'd like to inspect the car or have a company that does that do that for you (I know there are several that will come to inspect it for you for a nominal fee) I'm happy to have you do that - you don't have to take my word for what the car actually looks like. Winning bidder must make a small deposit immediately, followed by paying of the balance via personal check. There have been lots of fake bank checks floating around out there, so I need to take a regular personal check. Once your check clears my bank, I will release the car and title for pickup, and will be happy to help with shipping in any way I can - though buyer is ultimately responsible for any shipping arrangements and cost. See my feedback and bid with confidence. Please email with any questions, or if there's anything else you'd like to see in more detail. Make me an offer, I would like to see someone else give this beauty a new home and get a lot of good use out of her. Thanks!
