Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow
1974
Excellent very clean example
Here is a very fine example of a 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver shadow finished in a gorgeous 2-tone combination; Mediterranean Blue over Athenian Blue with blue fine lines and French Navy blue Connolly hides. The combination makes a for a stunning presentation.
This excellent example has recently undergone a light restoration and presents beautifully. The body is straight and the paint is deep-lustered, shiny and consistent. It does have some less than typical minor chips and nicks which have been professionally touched up. It also has some minor signs of paint stressing on the “C” pillar (this is a signature Rolls-Royce trait. The manufacturer used the “lead-wiping” technique to join body panels wherein the lead expands and contracts at a different rate compared to the steel causing “checking” in the paint at specific points). In this car, the stress marks are quite insignificant and are much less than typical. The paint and body present very well indeed.
The interior leather is stunning and shows no sign of the usual wear and/or fading often seen on these models. The leather is not cracked or “tired” and looks great. The burr walnut is in very good condition and presents nicely with only minimal lacquer marks in the dash. They are ever so minor and don’t even show up in the photos. The wood on the doors are virtually perfect. Carpets and head-lining are good. Instruments, features and functions operate consistently after recently having been workshop tested and repaired where necessary. All windows work well.
Mechanically, the car is very sound and also recently work-shopped. The hydraulics and brakes have been serviced recently with a brake accumulator replaced, all pumps, valves calipers checked, system bled and pressure tested to satisfaction. All is working well. Under the hood, the car presents very clean and tidy as testament to a well maintained life.
All chrome, bright-work and glass is excellent.
