The big news for the 9-3 is the 2.0 Liter 16 Valve Turbo Charged engine, making 205 H.P. that achieves 22-mpg in the city and 32-mpg on the highway. This engine is a perfect fit for the convertible, and feels like it has more than the 205 stated horsepower. The power from the turbocharged motor is smooth and pulls the car effortlessly through each gear. Any driver will appreciate the smooth shifts and instant response from the engine. The turbo spools seamlessly and instantaneously, and power comes on before you have enough time to contemplate your next move.
Brakes are four-wheel-disc with ABS, EBD, and MBA (mechanical brake assist), as well as traction and stability control. This Saab 9-3 rolls on 16-inch alloy wheels. Suspension is comprised of MacPherson struts, gas shocks and an anti-roll bar up front, and at the rear an independent four-link suspension with gas shocks and an anti-roll bar also.
Like many Saabs before it, the 9-3 gets a plethora of safety equipment. Standard dual front airbags, two-stage side-impact airbags, reinforced A-pillars, pop-up roll bars, and active front head restraints.
An all electric, three-layer top keeps things quiet and cozy during inclement weather and can be raised and lowered in just twenty seconds. Please check out my pictures of the top headliner ............ NICE! This 9-3 is loaded with front heated seats, CD Player, trip computer, ON-Star, and factory anti-theft protection.
This is a rust-free California car. It has only 86,000 easy miles and runs strong, no check engine light etc. The engine runs very smooth and the automatic transmission shifts excellent. The body on this car is nice, NO dings, NO dents, and NO major scratches. The Steel Gray Metallic paint appears to be original shiney, please see the pictures. The rims are 16" Alloy wheels with 205/55R16 tires, Bridgestones (front) Pirelli (rear) and the tires are nice.
