This beautiful Shelby was manufactured at the Ford Assembly plant in San Jose Calif. It was delivered to Kleinman- Cole Ford in Oakland Calif. (now Broadway Ford ). The Marti report shows that It was a Candy Apple Red, Automatic, Convertable. with a 289 2v engine. It was completly transformed into a Shelby G.T. 350, with all genuine Shelby parts. It is a beautiful, original, rust-free Arizona car. The body is straight as an arrow with all of it's original sheet metal. It has Lucas running lights and correct Shelby 10-spoke wheels. Inside and out it is now totally Shelby.
Even though this car was converted by the Dealer and not by Ford. It was, and still is titled a 1968 Shelby Cobra Convertable.
This car is not, and will never be in the Shelby registry.
I bought this car in Scottsdale Arizona about two years ago. I usually specialize in 30's-50's cars and trucks, when I saw this one in this condition I had to have it. Now I need the room.
As far as I can tell it has all of the original sheet metal, floor pans, chrome etc. It is beautiful.
It is totally stock looking, but with almost all mechanicals new and Hi performance.
It now is truly a Muscle Car in every respect. A partial list of the new parts include.
New radiator, Power Steering, all belts and hoses, Battery, Rebuilt front end, Regulator, Water pump, Newly rewired sequental tail lights, Engine is stroked to a 347ci.with all the best internals, including roller rockers, Aluminum intake etc. A four speed AOD automatic transmission was built especially to handle the power of this engine. A 9" Ford positraction rear end was installed for the same reason. New custom built 2 1/2" exhaust was made to relieve the back pressure from the headers all the way back. It has the complete, original Cobra dress up kit
This car runs cool in any weather, with the Air Conditioning on.
Partial list of equipment: Power Steering, Power Disc brakes, Ice cold Air Conditioning, AM-FM Stereo Radio, Tilt-A-Way steering wheel, Tilt wheel, Power top, Rollbar, Interior is all Shelby. etc.

Someone is going to have a Beautiful Red Convertable for less than half the price of one built by Ford.
