Vehicle Description
I am listing this car for a Studebaker buddy of mine. He is a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club so bid with confidence. Any questions should be sent directly to him at: stude59@gmail.com This time it is listed with a lower reserve, and the last time it will be offered on ebay. His description of the car follows:
Up for auction is my restored 1962 Studebaker Daytona 2dr hardtop. The car was stripped to a bare metal body shell and restored and built up from there. Below are 3 pictures from when I had the car restored showing the stripped body and the floors. At some time before I bought the car, it came out of the south-west, so it is NOT a normal Midwestern car. The car is rust-free. It is all metal under the shiny red paint. The suspension and underside of the car were detailed when the car was restored, and still looks decent.
It runs good and drives great. The economical OHV six engine has low miles on a rebuilt cylinder head. It gets great gas milage! It holds good oil pressure hot and cold. The first-gear-start automatic works great. The engine compartment is fully detailed and is cleaner then your local McDonald's. It has a Twin Traction (positrac) rear axle. Like any Studebaker or 44 year old car, it has it's normal oil weeps here and there. All the suspension is tight and rebuilt. Tires are fresh with excellent tread. All the engine accessories: radiator, starter, generator, carburetor, fuel pump, etc, have been replaced or rebuilt. It has a vintage-style chambered muffler for that nostalgic vintage throaty sound befitting the "Daytona" name.
When restored, the interior was mostly replaced. The carpet, door panels, and package tray are NOS, seat upholstery came from Historic Automotive. The dash is the nicest original 62 wood grain dash I've seen. Windlace is original. Headliner is original and has been patched.
The car was painted correct original 1962 Studebaker "Blaze Red". The paint on the car, while not perfect, looks great.
This is a great car for a economical summer driver! Don’t miss out on this "cherry" of a red Studebaker!
