1960 studebaker lark 2 door V-8 3 speed with over drive This is a 1960 studebaker lark.2 door V-8 with 3 speed manual with overdrive.259 V-8.This is a solid california car.not a bondo queen.Runs great.Has dual exhaust that has a nice throaty sound.idles smooth with lots of power.We have driven this car on the freeway and around town here in san diego and this car turns heads.Re-painted in the original red color in the last year.Body is straight and no signs accidents.the interior was redone at some time.the passanger side front seat leans back to far.The door panels are in fair condition.the kick panels are in poor shape.New carpet.When the carpet was replaced with new padding and carpet,i saw the floors and they are solid with no patch panels.Dash is perfect,un cut with original non working am radio.The clutch and transmission shift great.The brake pedal is low to the floor and has to be pumped up to stop.I cant even find the master cylinder to add brake fluid.This is not a show car but it does get alot of attention where ever you drive it.The engine purrs like a tiger kitten.Lights and signals work.We have 2 brand new NOS tail light lens coming in we bought off ebay.The passenger side mirror glass is broken.They will go with the car.Clean Ca. title and current registration.Oil just changed and canister filter.Our zip code is 92102. The Studebaker Lark emerged in 1959 to compete with an influx of small import cars that had begun to flood the US market. The design for this model, particularly the grille, was similar to that of the Mercedes Benz 220. Since Studebaker Packard Corporation was the US distributor for Mercedes Benz at the time, many people thought there might be a merger of the companies. Whether or not the MB connection improved sales, the Lark provided temporary salvation for struggling Studebaker, a company that was suffering a number of internal and external problems at the time. Sales of the 1960 Lark peaked at 128,000 units, nearly doubling 1959 sales of the V8 version, and by the end of production in 1963, over half a million of the little cars were sold. A rare 2 door Lark with the optional V-8 with the over drive option. 200lbs lighter than the Hawk and could go 0-60 in 8.8 seconds.In 1960 that was fast! The engine in this vehicle was well maintained by its previous owner and runs like new. The transmission on this vehicle has been well maintained and shifts gears flawlessly.All the guages work except the gas guage.passanger side mirror glass is broke.
