For Sale
1988 Suzuki Samurai
62,000 original miles
Aaron-->
I love this Samurai but it's time to put on my "big boy" pants and let go of my biggest toy :(
All of my friends are making babies like they were going out of style, which doesn't leave much time in their lives for the likes of me and my Samruai. It runs and drives great! 4Low is practically a tractor gear. No gas needed when going down steep declines.
Drives down the road nice and straight, tops out around 55-60MPH like most sami's. Gets in the mid 20's for MPG because of the low gearing. I used to have 32x9.5" Super Swampers that matched the spare tire until some S.O.B. STOLE them from me while I was trying out a set of 35's. (someday I will find you!) At this point, I now have some brand new 33x 12.5 R15 MUD KINGS that have maybe 30 miles on them mounted on custom 2.5' offset black wheels.
The black stuff you see randomly on the hood, rockers and targa bar is Herculiner. When I did the inside I had a bunch left over and got a little over zealous and since NH is the rust capital of the US I figured it couldn't hurt to spread it around some. At least it looks cool right? Hind sight 20/20. I have a bunch of spare parts and those Rock Rails I welded up and never put on. Foiled again by the lack of garage and lack of time. They seem pretty heavy duty (if you can't weld-Weld a lot)...
CD player is old, it does have a jack in the face for an mp3 player input
Feel free to send me any questions if you are seriously interested.
I have put a lot of work into the ol' "ZUBICON", if I had a garage i'd probably keep it. The landlord doesn't enjoy seeing me working on it in the parking lot, which brings me to the bad.
It's currently un-inspected in NH because our lovely state has some real nitpicky laws regarding vehicle inspections. I've already fixed most of what's wrong and I've bought some parts for the other things on "the list" from the inspection.
Horn was fixed (loose wire)
Replaced some burned out brake light bulbs with sweet new LED ones
Adjusted E-Brake
Bought rear brake shoes because rear wheel cylinder is leaking and the shoes got "contaminated" haven't bought the wheel cylinder yet.
Needs a RF lower shock mount (I snapped the bolt when I was installing the new shocks last August)
Currently the battery tie down bungee is strapped to the forementioned shock, which apparently is a "problem"
Couple of rust holes in need of some bondo
Drivers seat needs a bolt put through the floor
I took the front sway bar off and threw it out when I lifted it, not thinking later on that the state would require me to have one.
I bought a pitman arm because they said there was some "play" in the steering
That's all I can think of at the moment from the Safety Police. Nothing major is wrong with it that I know of, I'm not a master mechanic and I don't have a shop. It will be sold as is.
Thanks for looking, Good Luck, and Happy Wheeling!
