Vehicle Description
Alright this is a 1988 Samurai with the original motor. Mileage was 116,xxx when it got turned into a mudding beast. I have done a lot of work to it within the last 6 months...which includes....Transmission shift sleeve and screw for nice solid shifter....complete rebuild of the transfer case..which as well got the 6.5 gearing. It now runs 4 miles per hour in first gear with the 31's tops out at about 27 in 5th gear. The high side has a 10% reduction to make up for the 31's I have a spool in the rear end and the front end is welded. The front does have hubs so during drives down the road steering is fine does pull to the left but what do you expect for unbalanced tires and the off road abuse it gets. For a video go here http://youtube.com/watch?v=IwqdaL5wjvQ In the last 6 months I've spent about 500 in the gearing 124 in the spool, 100 in birfields for the front axles, 35 in the tight shift kit and 250 in the driveshafts. Coming to a total of about 1000 dollars in parts. Motor starts right up and idles smooth.
