UP FOR YOUR BIDDING CONSIDERATION IS A 1996 TOYOTA CAMRY V6 XLE GOLD EDITION. This car is loaded with every option available with the exception of the CD player. It even has a fob for your key chain, that locks and unlocks the doors, as well as enabling and disabling the alarm. Two working key fobs and keys are included in this auction, as well as all of the original owners manuals and guides. I had a 1 1/8” trailer hitch installed for a bike rack. It came with the two ball adapters shown in the trunk. These are included in this auction as well. The XLE V6 GOLD EDITION is the very top of the line for a Camry, and has many of the same luxury features as the Lexus ES300. This car has had an average of a bit over 12,000 miles a year. I am the third owner, and have had this car for the last 4 years. This is one of the nicest cars you can get at a budget price. All of the features and options work. The only thing that I have found over the years, that doesn’t work, is the lightbulb on the dashboard, indicating that the car is in drive. The lights for park, reverse, neutral, first and second work fine. That’s pretty good for a car that’s twelve years old, and full of bells and whistles. The electric leather seats are extremely comfortable and have an infinite combination of positions. This is a perfect car for a young driver, as it is safe, dependable and looks pretty cool. Mechanically, the car has performed flawlessly, with only normal maintenance necessary. When I purchased the car, I had the timing belt changed, and I believe the brakes, or at least something related to them. It had a check engine light one time, and that was for the catalytic converter which has been replaced with a new one, as well as the front half of the exhaust. It also has a top of the line INTERSTATE battery, which had been replaced, this past January, as the old one started to get weak. This car just went through a New York State Inspection YESTERDAY, and passed with flying colors! This is a bonus, for the winning bidder, if they live in New York State, as you will not need to have the car re-inspected. If you reside outside New York State, the inspection sticker will be removed, along with the current registration. The mechanic did tell me, that the rear section of the exhaust would more than likely need replacing within the next few years. He also noted a leak in the power steering system, and said it would be most likely a hose. Also, one of the boots is torn, and should be tended to. Other than these minor flaws, the car is very sound, and ready to go. The tires are all matching and have equal tread. The tire shown in the photo, is the front right. The exterior of the car, has no rust, or corrosion. The door sills and jams are also very clean. The car has a few dings, with the worst of it being one of the mounting brackets which is broken off on the grill (as seen in the photos). The paint on the hood does have some cracking and chipping, on the nose. The front right fender, had been repainted at some time, as it has more of a shine, than the rest of the car. The interior of this car, is extremely comfortable. The heat and air conditioning work perfectly. It also has the sun roof / moon roof, that operates flawlessly. It even has a retractable cover, if you do not want to see the glass top. There is one small tear in the leather on the back seat on the passenger side. (see photo) The headliner is also very clean, and the carpets show a normal amount of wear for a well maintained 12 year old car. This car handles very well on city streets, as well as the highway. There is actually a button you can push on the console, that changes the shift pattern of the transmission, to give you a super boost of power. This is something you might want to disable, if the car is for a young man, as it does create a notable difference in power. All in all, this a great car, and is only being sold for financial reasons, and not because the car is worn out. This car should give its new owner, many years of good service. One very notable thing in regards to this particular 1996 Toyota Camry model car, is its dependability record, that has been proven over time, and confirmed in its excellent rating in the Consumers Guide from 1996. The following is an exerpt from Consumer reports magazine Annual Auto Issue from April 1996 which reads; “The refined, reliable Camry is one of the best mid-sized cars-at any price. It drives effortlessly, like a luxury car, though its light steering gives little feel of the road.
