WARNING: THIS IS NO SORORITY GIRL JEEP!
1977 FJ40. Runs great, almost everything replaced a little over a year ago when I dropped in a chevy 350. New Starter, alternator, all hoses and wiring COMPLETELY redone. Everything works, except for speedometer cable snapped about 2 months ago, and I never bothered replacing it, since I rarely speed in this vehicle.I have put a lot of money into this truck. The land cruiser shifts very smooth and has a ton of horsepower and torque, performs excellent off road and in the snow.
Listed below, everything I have done:
-Chevy 350 cc V8 Conversion with block huggers, dual exhaust
-New clutch, one year old
-New Painless wiring harness (weatherproof model). Everything was rewired, even the windshield washer squirty fluid works.
-new gauges below passenger side for V8.
-2 gas tanks, 2nd is a 22 gallon reserve
-BDS 2.5" lift and suspension/shocks installed one year ago. Steering stabilizer as well.
-32 x 11 tires
-new Bomz racing seats, very comfortable
-Bestop softop, one year old, and bikini top
-all new tie rods and tie rod ends put in this past summer. Steering is tight.
-holley 4 bbl, 650 cfm.
-manual choke
-twin KC 150 Watt daylighters
-hi lift jack
-Alpine stereo/cd player
-Alpine triaxial speakers under both jump seats
Notes: leaks some oil from oil pan, but not enough to notice between oil changes. Rust-I was going to replace driver side rocker panel and floorboard, holes in them right now. I would do this for sure if I was keeping it. I have the hardtop and doors, but I prefer to just keep the softop on it, since that was a hassle changing each season. Ambulance doors and driver/passenger doors have rust along bottom of doors. Hardtop has spotty parts of rust on it, another reason I don't put it on. Some bubbling of paint around windshield frame also.
