Description
RELISTED DUE TO A NON-PAYING BIDDER
This 2001 two-seater MR2 Spyder is a back-to-basics sports car. It has a mid-engine design like some Ferraris (the engine is mounted in front of the rear wheels), rear-wheel drive, and a convertible top that lowers in a flash so that you can enjoy top-down motoring; and all much lower than the Porsche Boxter it closely resembles.
The manual transmission and 4 cylinder engine guarantee great gas mileage. The exterior is a glossy black accented nicely by the caramel-colored convertible top and alloy wheels. Paint is glossy and clearcoat shiny. Hankook tires are at approx 90%.
The manual convertible top works easily, (unlatch, flip back and snap down) and can be lowered from the driver's seat. A nice detail is that the roof collapses into the boot exposing only the top section, which rests flush with the body so that no boot it needed to cover it. Rear window is glass with an embedded defroster which makes it easy to see out of in the winter. The caramel-colored leather interior is roomy and comfortable for a two-seat roadster. The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather-wrapped shift knob are comfortable to the touch and the white-faced instruments are easy to read. The pedals are a racy brushed metal. Ammenities include: power windows, door locks, keyless entry, am/fm/cassette with cd player, a/c, storage behind the seats, center console and pop-out cupholders. Even the dash has a small storage bin with easy release cover.
A fun car that is easy to live with, this MR2 looks great with the top up OR down and is not a car that is seen on every corner. Toyota manufactured these great little cars in relatively limited production so there aren't alot available. This MR2 was traded in locally at a franchised dealership from whom TCT Cars purchased it. It comes complete with one key and one keyless remote, owner's manual, factory floormats and complimentary carfax.
