Up for sale is my favorite truck, didn't think i'd ever get rid of it but I work much closer to my home now and no longer need this reliable gas saver. The economy is rough and I hate to sell it but we have medical bills that need attention. I'll describe the details of this truck to the best of my ability. If you have any further questions feel free to give me a call at 828-674-2756. Thanks for looking and please read everything. Exterior: Exterior wise this truck is in amazing shape for its age. It is truly rare to see an older Toyota truck with no rust problems. I don't know for sure if the paint is original or a re-paint but it is in near perfect condition, not a dent or fade anywhere. I've always taken superb care of the paint, washed and waxed every week. The underbody was coated with POR-15 rust protection by the previous owner and still looks as clean as the day I bought it. I've never taken this truck off-road, only to work and to haul garbage to the dump. All the lights work except one turn signal in the back, just needs a new bulb. The bed is off of a later model truck I believe, was that way when I bought it, the bedliner is an OEM Toyota piece and is in great condition. The only problems to speak of is that the gas tank door doesn't lock, I guess because this key wouldn't fit it the previous owner disabled that. And the gas tank filler neck is a little loose but the cap holds it in place no problem. There is no tailgate, never had one, and I didn't mind it so never bothered replacing it. It is also missing the front valance below the bumper as you can see in the pictures, again it didnt bother me any. There isn't a single spot of hail damage on the roof and the only previous rust spots are above the rear window but they look to have been repaired and painted over. This is an excellent looking truck and one of the cleanest i've ever seen for its age. Interior: As for the interior there's not much to see here. It has definately seen better days but it was simply my work truck. The carpet smelled bad so I removed it and coated the floor with truck bedliner. It is missing the radio, I just listen to my Ipod, and the heater core is bypassed due to a small leak but I am including a new heater core. This truck never had A/C from the factory but the air blows fine. All the controls and gauges work as they should, the glove box is a little loose but it works. Its not pretty but its decently clean and built for function. Both doors work good as do the windows, mirrors, and locks. Basically it gets the job done. Drivetrain: As with any older Toyota truck the drivetrain is where it really shines. The truck drives great, smooth and comfortable with no vibrations. The clutch was replaced about a year ago and the tranny shifts smooth into every gear. The previous owner had the entire head rebuilt. All new seals, headgasket, head machined and cleaned, new valves, valve seals, 3 angle valve job, new timing chain etc... This truck has solid power for a little 22R, and great even compression across all 4 cylinders. The front differential, rear axle, tranny and t-case have all had their fluids replaced with synthetic redline 75w-90 gear oil. The transfer case shifts smoothly into 4hi and 4lo no problems. This truck does have manual locking front hubs that work perfect. It recently got a tune-up including a new distributor cap, wires, ngk plugs, new fuel pump, coolant flush, radiator repair, and of course an oil change with 10w30 synthetic and a Toyota oil filter. The truck usually starts right up no problems, cold or hot. Every now and then it will idle a little low or take a bit to start, but it doesn't stall, and runs great as soon as you give it some gas. The carb has never been rebuilt to my knowledge and if I was going to keep it that would be one of the few things id do. It's super reliable as is but I like to spoil my vehicles. The exhaust does rattle a bit, could use a trip to the muffler shop, and while your at it i'd take it to an alignment shop. The steering wheel is a little angled driving down the road, it's been like that since I got it. The frame looks to have been professionally repaired in the back left corner by the previous owner. Could have something to do with the alignment being off. Doesn't look to be wrecked or anything just some rust repair I believe, either way its solid and strong now with all the thick steel plate they used. The truck is soild and ready to take you where you need to go. Thanks again for looking, and good luck bidding. Again if you have any questions feel free to give me a call at 828-674-2756
