2 for 1 Deal.
I have these two trucks. I was planning on making one really nice one but never found the time. Now I am selling my house and need to find a home for these. Hopefully there is a Toyota enthusiast out there that will give them a good home. If you have the time, you can make one or two great trucks out of these.
The Blue Truck:
Details: 1984, Daily Driver, 22R 4-Cylinder, Carburated, No power steering,115,500 miles, 2WD, Japanese Style Two Latch Bed, Lots of rust, Inspection runs out this month. Good title.
This has been my dependable workhorse. I only use it for odd jobs here and there. It has helped me with everything. I love this truck. It is my friend. It never gave me any trouble. The only thing I ever needed to do to it was change the oil and a wheel cyclinder.
Mechanically this truck is great. It has a strong running 22R 4-Cylinder with only 115,000 Miles on it. It is a basic model. It runs perfect every time. The only thing that I noticed is that it idles high for a while until it warms up enough. I was told that the choke may need to be adjusted. It may need a new muffler too (I think there is a hole in it). I would drive this truck around the world. However, as with all old Toyotas, it has cancer. The rust has gotten very bad as you can see. The body is completely rotted. The cab and the floors seem fine. There are a few holes in the frame. Fortunately, I found a doner truck for it. My plan was to take all of the parts off the parts truck and make this truck nice.
The Black Truck:
Details: 1987, Parts Truck, 22R 4-Cylinder, 144,700 miles, Has Power Steering, Air Conditioning, 2WD, Manual, Japanese style two-latch bed. Bad interior. Hardly any rust. NO TITLE.
I found this gem in a Junkyard by accident. I managed to buy it from them for $500. The body is in excellent shape. There is hardly any rust on it- only a little bit above the rear wheelwells. The frame is great as well. This truck had to have been in a garage for most of its lifetime. The only major flaw is a dent in the tailgate and the front bumber skirt. They beat it up at the junkyard a little bit from pushing it around with their loader.
It was taken apart some. It looks like somebody started to fix it and gave up. The transmission is out of it and lying in the bed. The waterpump, fan, pulleys, and radiator were taken out. They are in the cab. The motor looks to be in good shape. It might even run if you put it back together. The radiator looks almost new. The power steering components all seem to be there. You may have to find the bolts for it. I don't know if the air conditioning works. The interior is grey and is not in very good shape. The dash is missing some pieces around the radio. It does NOT have a title. It was sold to me strictly for parts and didn't come with one.
