Vehicle Description
You are bidding on a sweet 1973 Triumph Spitfire 1500 that has been 90% restored. The car is a rust free California car that I purchased for my son as he turned 16 years old. The car is reported to have original mileage. The previous owner recently had the car repainted in the original white color (exterior only). The paint is very presentable with only a couple very slight door dings and one spot (see photo) where the hood has scratched the cowl. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars worth of included extra parts for the car that the previous owner passed on to us.....pretty much everything you will need to make the car 100%- plus many duplicate parts (there are two tonneau covers, two top covers, etc). Right after purchase we took the car into a very reputable shop to have everything gone over. They talked us into a complete engine rebuild at a machine shop (12 month/12k mile warrantee). They replace nearly all the engine components including: fuel pump, alternator, battery, water pump, filters, plugs, wires, etc. They replace the original carburator with a weber DGV carb and performance air filter. The distributor was rebuilt. A new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing and refinished flywheel were installed. The rear end had a whine so the differential was machined and rebuilt. All of this was completed 200 miles ago. Our total investment into the car is over $8,500.00. Reserve is set far below this, however. The interior is in very good condition. The leather seats are very clean. The top dash is crack free. The only real flaw is that the wood on the dash has a couple small places that have become delaminated (see photo). The car is complete with the original radio and wheels. The tires are nearly new. The convertible top is new in a box. Everything on the car works- it is ready to be a fun daily driver that will turn heads. We have the clear title in hand ready to transfer to you. The car is being sold as is and we encourage pre-bidding inspections. We will help accomodate shipping. Check out my feedback score and bid with confidence. You will not be disappointed with this car!
