You have found a great car. Though jokes about British Cars and Lucas are nowhere near few and far between, they are fun cars to drive, to work on, and to meet other people through driving... British cars are always noticed!! This Spitfire is a California car, recently moved to Indiana (2007). It has not been driven since then, so there is no rust or body damage, due to salt, etc. It does not currently run, but is very close to doing so. I replaced the battery and rebuilt the clutch and break master cylinders, replaced the fuel lines and filters, replaced the spark plugs and wires, and was finalizing the carburetor, when a job change pulled me away from it. There is fuel to the Carburetor and as near as I can tell the problem right now falls in a $11.95 part, available at http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=33008#top (part #13). The body panels are in great shape as is the hard top. There is one trim piece missing on the rear of the vehicle that is easily replaceable. The paint can be restored to a glossy finish as you can tell from the pics of the trunk (or, rightly, boot) and the right side of the hood (or bonnet). The interior, carpet kit (with the exception of the e-brake cover), and trunk panels, etc are complete, but need replacing to give a good, clean appearance. The dash board veneer is peeling and there is one gauge that is broken. Both can be replaced or rebuilt fairly easily through www.mossmotors.com or http://www.victoriabritish.com It has dual a Monza exhaust system. It comes with four mag wheels and two steel wheels (shown with two mag and two steel wheels on the car) It also comes with a spare carburetor and a Haynes Repair manual, useful in repairing any system on the vehicle. I drove it for a year or two in California and it is a comfortable, fun car to drive, with performance that can be pushed hard.Reminder, California modified emissions control (smog) in 1975, the model year following this one. There is a charcoal canister on the system, but nothing else. It is easy to work on and fix without all the extra work that goes into figuring out smog systems. In all reality, I would LOVE to hang on to this car and get it back on the road, but the job change has forced me to sell it. Buyer will be responsible for arranging all transportation for the vehicle from the location it now sits. Seller will assume no responsibility for transporting the vehicle. Happy bidding. I know you will have happy driving!!
