'79 Spitfire
Here is fun car to drive that gets good mileage. It is in good condition with no known mechanical problems. You can drive it home to 'most anywhere. The paint was new about 18 months ago. It is a pretty good job, although not perfect. The engine runs great, uses very little oil, and does not smoke. It has up-graded electronic ignition. After a warm up, its like you "switch the engine on". The 4 speed transmission works perfect. It has an up-grade 3:27 rear end, which is the next best thing to an overdrive. The dash is not original, but is custom made of real Oak. The oil gauge was added, along with the drink holder on the extreme right. The tires are Toyo and have very low miles. The cloth top is probably about average. No major tears or rips, but it is kinda brittle, and a bit onwry to snap. All glass is good, except for one tiny zinger on the passenger side of the windshield. No wiper blade marks. Seats are near perfect. Carpet is all there and not rotted, but it apears to have been cut and ''patched in''. But its not bad. The floor pan on the driver side has been ''patched'', and is solid now. There are two rusty places on the frame, beneath the trunk, that have ''cosmetic'' patches on them. They are no problem, but I felt they should be disclosed. The rearview mirro on the passenger side won't stay set. The exhaust system is a straight pipe. It roars pretty good when accelerating, but is reasonably quiet at cruise speed. You can easily talk over it. All gauges and lights work. Buyer is responsible for pick up. Questions welcome. You will get a fast response.
