I purchased this TR250 with the plan of restoring it to its former glory. Age caught up with me however, and Ive decided to sell my 25 year collection of cars and parts. This TR250 was driven into a barn and parked for the last 20 years. I was told by the previous owner that this was a particularly rare TR250. One of 850 Anniversary editions of the already rare TR250. I have been unable to verify this and am hoping someone out there can help. At any rate, the car is complete and unmolested. I put transmission fluid in the cylinders, but Plan on a rebuild. It really is a car of contridictions. The passenger floor looks new, the drivers rusted out. The original convertable tops still looks great, the muffler still had the sticker on it. The car will need a total restoration. Ive owned TR6s and a couple of TR250s over the past 25 years. Im mentioning this because in my evaluating process I decided that it would be better to start from scratch, with a different rust free body tub. Its almost impossible to find one these days. Either they have been hit in the front end and repaired or at least 95% have ahad the bondo/fiberglass fix around the rear deck lid.In order to do a real restoration these areas have to be replaced in order to get top$ if you decide to sell it. That said, the car comes with another TR4 body shell. Dont be fooled by the pics. This shell has minoe surface rust that can easily be sanblasted of. The new floors and inner and outer rockers are already in. I have New old stock genuine stanpart sheet metal pieces including the back rear valance, the front valance that hiolds the headlights, (Its not shown in any of the photos.) the rear valannce, and the lower rear valance. The plan was to make a bondo free car. Check out Moss motors for the price of these aftermarket pieces. Its literally thousands of dollers. A $150 welder and a $100 portable sandblaster is all you will need to assemble a beautiful body tub. The front end of the tub has never been hit or repaired. It doesnt weigh much and can be transported on the back of the smallest truck. I have a bondo free hood that goes with the car. If the reserve is met Ill offer the winnuing buyer a great deal onstuff like new front and rear springs/shocks/brake etc.Check out the recent e-bay transactions for these cars. 25k-35k is the going rate for a quality one. You can pay $9500 for a pretty good one, but your almost certainly going to have those rust issues to deal with which will mean re-painting the car. It will proberbly haave 65-75 thosand miles on it, so a re-build is going to be just around the corner. The differance here is that you will have all new sheet metal instead of just re-bondoing. The reserve is reasonable. It comes with three of the four original hubcaps. You know what they are worth. One of the few options the car came with was painted wire wheels. A set goes with the car,. If your looking to just make money with the car, theres plenty of room for that. But if your looking to build a great rust free TR250 in the original prized British Racing Green color scheme (not one that has bee stripped of its original color and repainted BRG) then this is a great car. It also comes with an additional rear bumper. The car is located near Charleston South Carolins. I can transport the tub uup to columbia SC if that is of any help. Good luck bidding.
