Vehicle Description 25,939 Stags were produced (1970-77). Only 2,871 were imported to US (1971-73). A RARE vehicle. I have been a Triumph lover for many years and have always wanted a Stag. I finally ran across this one a few years ago and snagged it. It is a truly beautiful and RARE specimen, and I am heart-broken to have to sell it. I am selling this car because I am moving and have no place to park/store it at my new residence. (I also have a 1976 TR6 that I will be selling in the near future for the same reason.) This car is in excellent condition. I consider it a “driver”, but with a little work, it could be a show car. This is the ORIGINAL engine. The engine runs purrrfectly. No leaks, idles smoothly, good performance, excellent oil pressure, and it runs COOL. It was completely rebuilt in 2007, at a cost of $13,000+ (complete invoice(s) for engine work supplied. I would not hesitate to hop in and drive across town or half-way across the country. The soft top is new – installed in 2007, also. The soft top needs to have the rubber seals replaced (I purchased the seal kit and am including it with the car, but I have not installed them.) The hard top needs a new liner (faided / stained / small tear). Features include: 55637 original miles Power Steering – rack pinion Power Brakes – front disk/rear drum Power Windows Tilt Steering Pioneer AM/FM Stereo w/CD Player 4-speed Manual Transmission Hard Top / Soft Top / T-roll bar 3 Litre (2997 cc) OHC V8 – original engine – twin stromberg carburators – completely rebuilt in 2007 4-wheel independent suspension My next project for car was to have been rear suspension bushings. Old bushings are original and are suffering from age. Not a big job to replace. Interior – excellent condition – original in every way except: replaced original radio with stereo + 4 speakers (rear speakers installed in side “cubbys” with no screws to preserve “original” interior) original temp gauge was replaced with “combo” temp/oil pressure gauge car does not have air conditioning. (I do not know if it originally had A/C and it was removed by original or previous owner, or if it never had A/C.) The clock (quartz analog) does not work (replacement is available for approx. $75) Interior rear-view mirror shows some flaking of sliver backing (new mirror included, but not installed) Car was repainted by previous owner – slight and insignificant chips on edge of hood VERY SLIGHT rust (far less than normal for 35-year old vehicle) Vehicle has been kept garaged since I acquired it in Oct, 06. According to previous owner was garaged entire time he owned it (he was second owner). Nothing is known by me about original owner. All-in-all this is a beautiful example of a truly rare and fine British touring sportster. Vehicle is sold “AS-IS”, with no warranty implied. A $500 deposit is due via PayPal within 48 hours after auction ends. Please email seller with any questions. Payment is due within 7 days after auction ends. The buyer is responsible for pick-up or arrangement of transport of this vehicle. On May-17-08 at 07:21:51 PDT, seller added the following information: 25,939 Stags were produced (1970-77).
