You are bidding on a 1980 Triumph TR7 Convertible. The car is in excellent mechanical condition with very little surface rust and I must stress that you need not perform any mechanical repairs......this car runs consistently and is reliable (you can't say that about most Triumphs). I have spent more money on this car than what it is worth to get it in this condition and I have been enjoying this car for more than 2 years with only normal maintenance. There are a few minor dents and dings on the car which can be seen in the attached pictures. I was about to repaint the car and decided to sell it instead. I have owned the car for four (4) years and have replaced the interior carpets and reupholstered the seats. I have recently done the following: replaced stromberg carbs with Webers (I drive the car to work on nice days, 60 miles round trip), new clutch slave cylinder, brake master cylinder, Monza Muffler, complete air conditioning replacement with new parts (yes ....the air conditioner works) and higher powered headlights with new harnesses. I have done things that I can't remember and any Triumph enthusiast will realize the good condition of this vehicle. I listed this car about a year ago and decided not to sell it and at that time I thought I had an electrical short and later realized that I was charging a dead battery. I since replaced the battery and the car starts easily, even in the dead of winter after sitting for a few days. I even drove this car during cold dry days during the winter months with no problem The few corks I have noticed is that once in a while the car will stall while driving and I think it is due to the carbs getting slightly flooded. I immediately turn the ignition on and the car starts up while moving. Some times I will have to let the car sit for a few minutes then it starts up again. This will happen about twice every 150 miles or so. I notice it more after I come off a highway after driving about 70 - 75 MPH and I think one of the flaps in the carb's stick which causes the engine to take on too much gas. Another thing is that when it is very hot out and I have the air conditioning on the car runs a little hot.....I usually turn the A/C off when this happens and the care runs at normal temperature. You may be wondering why I am selling it? My wife is not a fan of the car and has never ridden or sat in it since I have owned it. I decided to purchase a new or newer convertible which will appeal to her more. I have enjoyed the process of getting this car to this point and have had all mechanical work professionally done (no backyard amatuer). I am at the point where I need to have the car painted and decided to put the money towards a newer vehicle. Feel free to email me with any questions and I will try to get back to you in a timely manner. I travel quite a bit and may not respond for up to a day or so.
