Our 1987 Scirocco is up for sale. We bought the car from a VW mechanic. We had him replace the belts before we took the car. Repairs done while we had it are replacing the clutch and welding the gas tank (it went back to the shop twice to make sure it was welded right). Also, the shifter linkage parts have been replaced for a tighter feel, 1st gear is still kinda soft and hard to find. The red exterior is in good condition. A few small fades on the hood and gound effects. There is one small rust spot that i know of on the rear hatch. The interior is black leather in very good shape. The driver's seat has the normal wear seen on most leather seats. Mileage is unknown; car came with the 160 mph speedo stopped at 120k miles. The car was driven primarely by my dad. Commuting 40 minutes 1 way 3 times a week. The car never gave us any problems.
The previous owner of the car was a VW Mechanic, he did all the repair for the car while we had it.
One known problem with the car is the fan sometimes stays on after you turn the car off, it just started doing that lately. unplugging the battery and plugging it back in would turn off the fan.
