Vehicle Description
This 1958 Beetle was purchased in 1985, and garaged. It was intended to be a restoration project, but life got in the way, and the car has remained in the garage these last 23 years, as indicated by the healthy coating of dust which covers the entire car! I am in the process of cleaning out my parents' estate items, and the car needs to move to a new home. I bought this car on July 18, 1985, and drove it the 185 miles from Hershey, PA to Punxsutawney, PA with no problems whatsoever. I apologize for the poor photos, but I am unable to move the car out of the garage at present. Odometer reads 83,227 miles...no doubt that is 183,227, if not way more! All glass is intact, the outside metal is in good condition, and both running boards are on the car. The rear bumper was removed by my father in 1985, so that the garage doors could be closed. The bumper is seen in the photos. Driver's door is missing an outside handle, but the door still latches. Tires are flat, and no doubt rotted. I am unable to check under the car, and cannot recall the condition of the pan. The inside heat channels are rusted through. AM radio worked in 1985. The steering wheel is cracked, and all upholstery will need to be replaced. The headliner and side trim is missing. I hold the title to the car, and also have a letter from Volkswagen, stating that the car was built on October 22, 1957, and was shipped to the USA on October 31, 1957. I do not have the owner's manual. Car is sold as-is. Purchaser will be responsible for making all arrangements for the shipping of the car, and all fees and costs of shipping will be at the buyer's expense. Payment is to be made by money order or certified check, and is due within ten days of auction close. Car must be picked up within two weeks (it is located in Punxsutawney, PA). Please e-mail me with any and all questions.

There has been a question about why the car has a 1988 registration and inspection sticker. My father would run the car to the garage at the end of the street for the yearly inspection. In 1989, we decided to let the registration lapse.
