All rear axle boots replaced All four shocks replaced Oct 2007 All spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor and coil replaced Apr 2008 Complete wiring harness replaced/all bulbs replaced. New starter Installed along with new battery and battery cables. May 2008 Carburetor rebuilt, fuel pump, filter and fuel lines replaced/ Manual transmission fluid drained and replaced. Jun 2008 All new tires installed (including spare) Inner/outer tie rod ends Replaced / steering damper replaced and wheel alignment. This '65 bug is in very good condition, mechanically sound-wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere. It is extremely fun to drive and gets a lot of "thumbs up" everywhere we go! Solid floor boards! No rattles in this bug at any speeds! There are a few blemishes on the exterior of vehicle (see pics). One is on the lower left corner of driver's door, back between exhaust pipes, and the very front of hood (trunk lid). The interior is in excellent shape other than there is a few small holes in the headliner that mice made when the vehicle had been stored several months (see pics). Mechanically, the only things that needs attention if I were to keep it, would be: The left turn signal doesn't always cancel, the wipers won't always stop at the bottom of the windshield when turned off and the windshield washer doesn't work-I don't have the hose that goes from the spare tire to the reservoir. It will be the buyer's responsibility to pick up vehicle. I have tried to keep this "Bug" as close to original, from the radio to the wheels as I possibly could. Whoever wins this bid will be getting a true piece of nostalgia that he or she will enjoy for years to come.
