Up for auction is a 1998 Volkswagen New Beetle located in beautiful Miami, FL. This bug has tons of factory options including a six-disc CD changer, power windows and door locks, keyless entry, factory alarm, fog lights, and an automatic transmission that shifts smoothly. All these options are in proper working order and the transmission is still shifting as it should. The vehicle has close to 107,000 miles on it, which is low compared to the industry average; tires have about 65-70% tread on them. It starts right up every time and has ice cold a/c. Vehicle has a clean Florida title ready to be signed over to the new owner. This car will make a a very good economic first car for somebody.
That being said, it does have some cosmetic issues that need to be addressed. The vehicle was previously owned in Miami Beach... which, if you're unfamiliar, has mostly street-side parking. Because of this, there are some scrapes and scratches (no major dents though) throughout the car. Please see the pictures attached as I made sure to photograph the major flaws (Both side skirts and the area above both rear wheels have scraping. The driver-side rear reflector, as seen in pictures, has fallen out). The roof of the vehicle has faded quite a bit. The front passenger wheel has the full-size spare on because the tire on the stock wheel was punctured (The stock wheel/tire will still come with the vehicle). Some of the VW logos have come off center the wheels as well. The interior panels of the car are a little dirty, and the plastic that covers the speedometer has gotten a little cloudy ( thanks to me using windex on it =/ ). I'd rate the cosmetic condition of the car as FAIR (6/10), and the drivetrain condition as GOOD. Remember you are buying a used car, but I am describing it to the best of my abilities. If you're a local, please feel free to contact me to arrange a test drive! This New Beetle has a good heart, it just needs a loving home to take care of her. If I was to keep her I would definitely spring the few hundred for a Maaco paint job.
This vehicle is in good running condition and will make a nice daily driver. I'd recommend an oil change and a basic tune-up (as I do for every car, it's good to start your own maintenance schedule as a new owner) and if bidding reaches $3,000 I'll go ahead and pay to have that done. I have a few maintenance receipts and the original owner's manual as well (Picture of said items can be seen here: http://img505.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p1010299ae4.jpg ). I have taken the condition of the vehicle into consideration and that is factored into my very low starting bid price! Remember, NO RESERVE MEANS THE HIGHEST BIDDER GETS IT! Bid to win!
