1968 VW Deluxe Transporter Bus This is an amazing, one-of-a-kind VW Bus that looks fantastic, drives exceptionally well, and is super tight inside and out. It was restored and meticulously maintained personally by the previous owner for 20+ years (a BIG reason I bought it), and is an absolute joy to drive. Mechanically, almost everything has been gone through within the last 5,000 miles. Cosmetically, it’s the masterpiece of a lifelong SoCal surfer. Put the two together along with some custom upgrades and you have one of the most unique cruisers in the entire nation. It’s not quite “show quality” (although it won a few awards in the 90s), but it has all the magical character that a VW bus should. It's a one-of-a-kind head turner. Here are the details: Paint Body § Paint: DuPont Kandy2 Chesapeake Bay Pearl (top) and Mullberry Magenta Pearl. § Bumpers: Originals - triple chrome plated with new rubber step pads. § Body: Totally straight, no accidents with only your basic surface rust under the front and cargo floor mats. Good luck! On Sep-11-08 at 14:57:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Two very minor imperfections to add - in the interest of full disclosure: Clear coat layer on rear portion of roof has a few areas that are peeling. Blue paint is perfect - just the clear coat layer is affected. (Costs $40 to respray if you wanted to make it look new) Padding strip located at the top of the driver seat divider panel has a chunk missing from it (previous owner's dog took a bite). You can get a replacement part for $10-20.
