Vehicle Description This is a very clean installation of a Buick V6 engine into a VW Bus. This was originally installed back when a 1970 vehicle still needed a smog check here in California so all the original equipment from the donor 1987 Buick was installed into the van including the electronic multi point fuel injection, diagnostic module, dash indicator lights, and even the stock air cleaner! Even though the vehicle has a smog legal sticker the new laws make it exempt. No more smog checks needed. The radiator is mounted underneath the floor and has two electric fans which come on during stop and go driving. I drove this last week when we had temperatures over 100 degrees and it ran fine. The front and rear suspension has new heavy duty sway bars installed which make it less sensitive to side winds. This thing will cruise easy at 70 mph. The Buick is factory rated at 150 Hp which is twice what the original VW motor had. I normally start out in second gear, no problem. I originally bought this to fix up but I have too many other projects. The paint is in good shape and the only body problems are a small dent near the rear bumper and some small rust blisters near the bottom edge of the front window. The interior could use some seat covers and maybe door panels. The headliner is in good shape. The crazy spotlight on the roof is not hooked up so I'm not sure it works. The previous owner installed cruise control when he put in the Buick. It has a radio but I never finished hooking it up. The registration is paid up till next year. The winning bidder can drive it home!
