Vehicle Description 1984 Vanagon Westfalia Wolfsburg Edition--watercooled, 1.9L waterboxer engine; rebuilt heads (at Verner's, 4 yrs ago). Full camper--beds still comfortable, upholstery good. 10-gallon reservoir with sink; original refrigerator; two-burner propane stove. Fold-out tables. Driver's and passenger's front seats rotate to face living/dining area. Rack with large RocketBox included! Ready for Burning Man, road trips, Baja, Alaska, beyond... Parts and work done--all service receipts available and almost all work performed at Verner's Automotive and Wolfsburg Autowerks in Boulder. Yokohama SuperVan tires (less than 15,000mi); new water pump at time of head rebuild; brand new heater core and front heater van; muffler, catalytic converter, exhaust replaced 4 years ago; new alternator (3.5 years ago); o2 sensor (1.5 years ago); fuel filter (3 yrs ago); rear drive axle/bearings (3.5 years); exhaust temp sensor (4 years ago); new fuel tank and overflow tank (last year); oil/filter replaced every 3,000 (this i did at home). The van's getting about 21mpg on the highway... Drama: Minor rust on rear right body (pic avail). Windshield has crack in it. Electrical switch for kitchen sink-pump just fritzed out--cheap part, but i've got no time to replace it. The fridge has been grumpy about running on propane. The defroster switch on the dash is pushed into the dash--it has to be re-affixed from behind. What else? Gotta let it go, bummer! I've loved this van. It's slow on the hills, but fully livable and fantastic for climbers, travelers, skiers, wanderers, and anyone wanting to live large on the road. Contact me with questions, for pics, the works.
