Restoration has begun on this 1977 Volkswagen Transporter Van Vin # 2372027388. I purchased the van on EBAY on 1-22-06 for $1,175.00. I had it shipped from Arizona to Chicago for $625.00. Since the vehicle is from Arizona there was minimal rust and very little body damage. Since the shipment the bus has been stored and worked on in an enclosed garage. What rust and body damage there was on the bus was, was professionally repaired by a reputable body shop in my area for $3,881.00. The paint color is from the new Audi R8, a dark gray metallic (Daytona Gray). The two front seats have been professionally upholstered with Black Leather. All door, window, handle, camper cap, etc... seals and moldings have been replaced with new. Louver windows have been rebuilt with new rubber seals. A new camper canvas has been purchased and installed. There are new tail lights, head lights, side marker lights and many other new parts. The engine and transmission have been removed. I originally had plans to have them rebuilt by GEX. So as an option to buyer I can forward the engine and transmission to GEX or directly to new owner. Did I mention we are only the second owner of this bus . As you will see in the photos the attention to detail has been our primary focus in the restoration of this vehicle.
