Vehicle Description This is a very rare useful vehicle in great condition. Bench seat vanagons are scarce to begin with, not to mention those having the diesel option from the factory. It spent most of its life in Cali and has no rust issues and great, original paint. Thought it was in good running condition I pulled the motor out, had the head rebuilt to restore any lost compression, replaced all engine seals and gaskets, and cleaned and painted all parts involved. After installing the reassembled motor I fabricated a high flow exhaust system to increase power and efficiency. Work done, and parts replaced: -Valve grind -Head plained -Valve guids and seals replaced -New starter -New bypass hose -Water pump -Thermostat -Valve cover gasket -Cam seal -Intermediate shaft seal -Main seals -Head gasket -Head bolts -Oil pan gasket -Clutch Kit -Glow plugs -Injectors -Injector heat shields -Fuel Filter -Air filter -Timing belt -Custom New high flow exhaust. Though the diesel Vanagons don't win any races, this one is very drivable due to its healthy motor and tuned fuel system. Driving this bus really puts a smile on my face, and turns heads wherever you go. It sips fuel getting into the 30's depending on how you drive it. As you can see in the pictures the Vanagon has collected some dents and scrapes over the years but those are better than the hidden rust that these vehicles typically have. The tires have descent tread but are weather cracked in places. They work great for the around town driving that I am doing and hold air well. I really like this van and wish I could hang onto it but I'm starting another project with an 84 Ram 50 turbo diesel along with other rare diesel vehicles I'm working on and Don't have enough room for all of them. I would not hesitate to drive this van across country. It will run biodiesel no problem and my next move with it would be an svo veg oil conversion. Reserve is set bellow well below my investment in it. If you need to call me with question my # is 816 214 3004.
