For sale is a 1981 Californian VW Westfalia poptop camper. A nice simple air cooled model, with a nice simple engine, and low maintance. No radiator, no water pump no hoses or thermostats to worry about. DESCRIPTION; Sleeps 4 in two beds. . Has a manual transmission and a 2.0 liter air cooled 4 cylinder engine. Front seats swivel 360 degrees. Front seats have been reupholstered to the 1985 model with armrests, a lot more comfortable than the thin 1980 type. Have original manual and rear mesh screen. Sony radio/Cd/Mp3 with ipod hookup. EXTERIOR: Van looks good. Paint is fresh. Can't see any rust. Bumpers good with all 4 corner pieces. New hub caps. Roof rack included. Good tires. INTERIOR: Dash is good. Carpets are good, Front seats are good, Rear seats good. Cushions good. Poptop tent is original has small tear on rear and one on drivers side, were it got pinched by poptop, both have patches on them and is minor,the poptop is still very usable. Cabinets are good. Sleeps 4 in two beds. Cooler that was in cabinet has been removed to make a cabinet see picture. Model does not come with stoves. Has a sink. So if you get a cooler and a coleman stove you have all you need. Overall nice for age. MECHANICALLY: Van is running good with no known problems. Engine has good power. Transmission shifts nicely. Brakes are good. Van has just come back from two big trips and performed well with no problems. Drips a little oil which is common on these oil cooled models.

Fee and Tax Information: $500 deposit within 24 hours. Paypal or cash in person.
Winning bidder must contact us within 24 hours of auction end, and make arrangements for payment at that time. A $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 7 days of auction end. If no contact is made within 24 hours we reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or sell it otherwise. Most banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles older than 1995 or with more than 100K miles. Make sure if financing that your financial institution accepts the year and miles of this vehicle before bidding. Please arrange financing prior to bidding.
Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, we will gladly cooperate. You can locate shippers by doing a search for `auto shippers`.

Just found all the maintance receipts for the van, that show a long history of the van been well taken care off. Including a new transmission at 156K miles. Also passing Ca smog at 199K miles. Sink works.
