Im not gonna start bragging on this car too much,it gets me in trouble sometimes.If Volkswagen used any performance enhancing drugs this car would have been injected.
Heres a bief history that we know on this car:
WE PURCHASED FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER 2004 WE SOLD IT TO A GENTLEMANIN '05.HE LEFT FOR MEXICO (WHERE HE LIVES IMMEDIATELY.HE'S MADE 2 TRIPS A YEAR TO SEE HIS CHILDREN (ONE LIVES IN NEW ORLEANS THE OTHER IN ST. LOUIS) AND DROVE BACK TO MEXICO TWICE A YEAR FOR SEVERAL YEARS. HE DECIDED HE WANTED MORE OF A LUXARY VW SO HE TRADED IT IN FOR A PASSAT ON OUR LOT! (as we get older we get wiser ;) WE SOLD HIM A V6 PASSAT AND HE TRADED THIS GOLF BACK TO US.
I think the body got a shot of that juice when it was manufactured.No RUST ANYWHERE including none on windshield frame.Body does need to be repainted. A few minor scratches and minor dents.Great rubbibg car akll around.No accident damage or big dents NADA'! Transmission gears shift smoothly through all gears,NO SYCHRONIZER GRINDS!!!! Shifter needs the normal plastic pieces replaced.If you run over yoo hard to the left instead of 1st gear you will get reverse. When you get used to it it shifts terrific. Nothing is wearing in the shifter though.Air blows cold on all speeds.
This is from my test drive of car: Car drove straight down the road. Actually AMAZING for this old of a car,car is tight. No wheel bearing noises,quiet on highway. I heard a little cv joint click,may need but nothing major. This is a rare example of an A-1 golf from this era. They dont come around often like this! Good Luck!!
