Vehicle Description
Black 1998 Volkswagen Jetta TDI with approximately 177,000 miles, 5 speed manual transmission. I bought this car new in august 1998 and have all service records. It was used for a long freeway commute for two years, for more mixed driving for approximately 7 and for another freeway commute last year. Car has had all regular service, including a time belt approximately 20k miles ago, fuel, oil and air filter and regular oil changes. Car runs and drives well and has been reliable. This car gets around 45 mpg on the freeway with the cruise control set between 75 and 80 and in the high 30s in town. Also has newer single disk stereo that plays MP3s. I no longer have a long commute (thank God) and now have a newer car. Includes valet key, two original keys and one working faub. Car has roll-up windows, power doors and no sun roof. 10% of purchase price due within 48 hours of auction close by paypal or MO. The rest due at delivery in cash or certified funds. Please contact me with questions. The good
The car starts and drives very well. Alignment is good, brakes were well and overall it feels very solid.
Car has all rubber body trim and all hub caps. Comes with three extra hub caps and a set of Nokian snow tires if the buyer wants them.
Cold AC
Cruise Control
Single CD MP3 capable Pioneer stereo Problems
Check engine light is on. Code says intermittent glow plug problem. I have had no problems starting it, even at 0 degrees fahrenheit on cold mornings.
Some chips on hood and around right fender, which have been touched up.
The windshield has minor scratching and a crack along the lower portion
Exhaust system has some leaks, though it is not significantly louder than new.
paint is overall very good, but certainly is not perfect. Very passable for a ten-year-old car
This car had a minor accident in the fall of 1998 after about 10k miles. It submarined an 89 mercury grand marquis which bent the hood and destroyed the grill. All parts were replaced by a professional body shop. Since it was covered by insurance, it will come up on the internet. You couldn't tell by looking at it. It's gond 165000 good miles since then. Recent maintenance
New tires (less than 1k miles.)
New wheel bearings
Timing belt and tensioner
air filter
fuel filter
brakes pads
